SheaMoisture All-Over Hydration for Ultra-Healing for Dry Skin 100% Raw Shea Butter 11.5 oz

This is my third purchase of Shea moisture raw shea butter. This product that I received today is a little different than the first two in that it isn't white-ish, it is a light yellowish green. I searched online and found out that it's perfectly normal for raw shea butter to have that greenish tinge. It just depends on where the shea butter is from and how it was handled after it was gathered. I think that the scent is just a bit stronger then before, but it is the same scent. On me,the scent dissipates very quickly after I've applied it to my skin so it doesn't really bother me that it has just a tad bit of an earthy smell to begin with. I sampled a little bit of the product I received today and I was happy to see that this shea butter melts very easily as soon as I put it in my hands, more so than the previous two orders that I received. My usual procedure for using the shea butter is to whip the raw shea butter together with some macadamia oil, using a hand mixer. It results in a light whipped texture that spreads easily on my skin and absorbs well it in a few minutes. Maybe halfway through my use of the jar, I might need to whip the remaining shea butter-macadamia oil mixture again because it reverts back a bit to its original firm state. When I've used up my current supply of the shea butter and I get to this latest jar that I received, I'm going try spreading the raw shea butter on my skin without whipping or adding the oil. I think it might spread easily and absorb into my skin quickly right out of the jar.

I followed the instructions in another review, microwaving a portion 1 min at a time and carefully stirring it back into the jar until all the grains were melted into a clear yellow oil, then put it into the freezer to cool. Also, while it's liquid makes a great opportunity to add in some essential oils if you're into that. The natural scent is very light, just a faint earthy hay/cedar chips type smell, it probably would blend well with creamy/sweet florals or earthy scents like vetiver or patchouli. Once the grains are melted, it's so soothing and moisturizing, just using the leftovers from stirring has already softened an annoying rough patch on my elbow, and my hands are silky. Really glad I didn't listen to the negatives on this one, I keep seeing consistently high quality ingredients from this brand. It seems like there was probably an issue in shipping temperature control for this batch. I understand not wanting to bother or give it as a gift, but it is very fixable.

So, I do a lot of DIY moisturizers and body butters and the very first time I bought this, the shea was white and the last 2 I purchased were yellowish. Honestly, the 1st one I purchased was great however the last 2, horrible. The smell is really bad to the point where I just couldn't remove it and the texture is really gritty. If I could give this a zero review I would. There are other shea butters out there that are much much better. Don't waste your money!

I read the reviews and saw that there was a variation in the consistency of what other customers have received. I initially purchased this at my local grocery store. My hands have been extremely dry. I've tried everything from Eucerin, Curel, Gold Bond, O'Keefe's, Olay, and everything in between. Nothing has helped. I've made my own body butter in the past, but it started to get expensive. I grabbed this and it helped tremendously! So much so that I came to Amazon to purchase another container. The one from Amazon is exactly the same as what I purchased from the store. It's solid, creamy, and has a little grit to it. Everything melts perfectly once I rub it in. The smell and color are the same as well. I don't melt it in the microwave. I just use it straight out of the container. I know there is a debate about the color/consistency of raw Shea butter. For me, this works. I still have to reapply throughout the day, but my hands aren't irritated. They feel soft and moisturized. I plan on using this on my body too. So far, this is a great product for me. I hope others have luck with it as well.

Trying to be careful about what I put into and on my body, I was looking for a moisturizer that had very clean ingredients. Decided to try this because it was 100% pure shea butter. I think because of that, the scent isn’t very frilly. It’s more earthy, but it has grown on me after continued use. Like some of the other reviews said (and as you can see in the 1st pic) this arrived separated and gritty. But I tried what other people did to smooth it out and it worked! Slowly heated it up in the microwave (in batches) until liquidy, poured it back in the container, then put it in the freezer. Once it came out of the freezer it was smooth! I haven’t put it back in the freezer since, and it’s still smooth. This is a little hard to dig out of the container, but once you get some on your fingers, just put it in your palm and rub your hands together to warm it up, and it spreads on like butter. (Ok, you have to work a little bit, but I count that as exercise). 😁 This soaks into my skin better than coconut oil. It’s greasy for a few minutes, but once it soaks in, my skin is just smooth, not oily. Removed 1 star because of the work I had to do to get this to a useable format, but other than that, I’d definitely buy it again!

Upon opening the container, I wasn’t a fan of the smell. To me the odor is foul, but after using it a few days, it’s not as offensive. If your shea butter is grainy and dry feeling, remelt it by placing the container in a hot bath of water. Stir constantly until fully melted. Then put the container in an ice water bath and keep stirring until it begins to thicken. Once it hardens it will be smooth and easy to apply. I tried adding some wild orange essential oil to mask the scent and it didn’t work for me. Maybe a spearmint would work better. Anyway, this is good stuff and no added chemicals is a win for me.

Will be buying again and again.

Garbage...i didn't get a chance to use it because when I received it, the product was already dry like in solid form.I tried to thaw this but no use.I just wasted money and time waited so long for nothing. Straight out to the garbage!

Lo use para preparar crema corporal y crema para peinar y funciono perfecto.
