So much better than jerky! It was difficult to not consume the entire thing in one sitting. The flavor and tenderness was far better than I expected. Will definitely purchase again!!

The slab does NOT meet up to its description, nor does it match the favorable reviews of some of the customers. It is very tough, hard to slice, and quite lacking in flavor. The flavor is more akin to gas station jerky. Not salty, but not tender, and in fact it is very "chewy". Perhaps the tough low-flavor is an acquired taste? I will NOT buy again. On a positive note, 8 ounces for a dried beef snack is a fair price. But what a shame that it is so lacking in flavor or tenderness!

My wife and I really loved the original flavor of Made By True Biltong, so we thought we would give the "Garlic and Herb" a try. It did not disappoint. Like the original, it is a very moist, very flavorful piece of beef. The extra flavorings of the garlic and herb spices were subtle and not overpowering. My wife, who has very picky tastes in meat products (she grew up vegetarian and still has an aversion to some meat), could not get enough. She ate more the 3/4ths of the slab and I had to fight for the scraps. Definitely make sure you cut it into smaller pieces, as directed, and it makes a huge difference in the eating experience. My only objection was the price, but after looking for other "grass-fed" biltongs, this was the cheapest I came across. Once you actually have it in your hands, you'll realize it is a very substantial amount of beef. If you like jerkys, biltong and other dried meats, treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.

It's good, but not great. Probably won't buy it again, but it's a matter of taste too. Someone else might love it.

Flavor is not there. Enough meat for price

I would continue to order this product as the taste was very flavorful, well packaged and overall delicious!

Maybe I got a bad batch? This was seriously not a good piece of biltong. I sliced one piece and the smell made me a little wary but I thought maybe it was the packaging or preservatives? It was super tough, hard to chew and I have no idea what meat this is supposed to be (I've never had beef that tasted like this) but it's the most un biltong biltong I've ever eaten! I tried a nibble on another piece but the smell, taste and texture is just not palatable for me. The dogs enjoyed it. Disappointing.

I have been purchasing STRYVE Biltong for years, but not anymore! The difference in quality between STRYVE and Made By True is without comparison! Made By True is far superior IMHO from start to finish. Just put the 2 side by side, one you need a decent grade slicer to slice, the other can be sliced with even a dull kitchen knife. The marbling of the True Biltong is superior, the tenderness superior and the flavor is fantastic! Even the flavored choices do not overwhelm the the grass fed beef undertones. Great product and now my go to!!
