The Country Wife and Other Plays (Oxford World's Classics)

I can barely believe the other review - two stars for this wonderful book? Ludicrous! This book is wonderful as it contains Wycherley's popular "Love in a Wood", "The Gentleman Dancing-Master", "The Country Wife", and "The Plain Dealer." If you love the 17th-century, as I do, you'll read these plays. Yes, these are PLAYS not novels, not short stories, so do keep that in mind when you are purchasing this. The Country Wife in particular was a fun romp through Restoration rakishness.

I find this a really useful resource. There are not a huge number of collections of Restoration plays out there (even fewer collections of Victorian and Edwardian plays, however) and this collection contains some lesser known pieces that are not available elsewhere. I bought this for Love in a Wood.
