Great heavy duty griddle
Honestly, if there’s a bad review on here about this thing (other than shipping damage) it’s someone who can break a steel ball. Treat it like cast iron and you will never have a problem. It’s 1/4” carbon steel so of course it’s going to be heavy and yes it’s going to rust if you don’t oil and season it! It will not warp if you keep even heat (and not on high burner either that is going to burn your food anyway!)

... is that it's so heavy that it takes a good amount of time to heat up--probably 15 mins
Downside to this thing is that it's so heavy that it takes a good amount of time to heat up--probably 15 mins. You can heat it up faster, but not without getting some hot spots. Also, takes 30 mins to cool off again. Oh, and you really have to get creative to find a place to store the thing. The best way to season pans is in the oven where you can control the temp, but you're not going to do that with this; it's too big to fit in the oven.Having said all that, I fired it up for the first time this weekend, and made 16 pancakes in one go. I have the 12x24 as well, for the bacon. 1.5 pounds of thin-cut bacon in one pan with no overlap. So, now Dad sits down with the family to eat instead of standing at the stove making round 2 (and round 3) of pancakes. Also, yes, I'm using this on a gas stove. It's a professional-class stove. One downside is that if you kick the heat up too high, the igniters on the stove start firing, I think they believe that the fire has gone out due to the lack of oxygen, but I couldn't tell you. Just keep the heat on medium-low and everything works fine.

DONT BUY IT
Don’t buy this I didn’t even use it yet and it rusted after I dried it off, let it sit over night in my kitchen lifted next morning with rust all at the bottom.

Durable, Heavyweight, works great.
I bought this product to use on a glass top.It is not designed for this and so it warps during the cooking process. I have 5 burners on my glass top so the eyes dont exactly line up evenly on the bottom. I could not take away any stars for this because that's my stove's fault, not the product. I'm willing to bet that if it would sit evenly over 4 burners that it would be just fine. When it cools, it goes almost back to a flat position.I will say that is it a thick solid piece of metal. The handle are great. It seasons easily based on the directions. And if those are not clear for you, there are countless videos on youtube.I bought it for one main reason, to cook the Japanese steakhouse rice, vegetables, and teriyaki chicken for a 5 person family. It will do that. I bought some griddle utensils and I bang around and flip things for my kids and they love it. I can cut right on it, chop and then I bought a scrapper with the utensils and it just scraps right off into a paper towel. Sometimes I throw a little water that helps too. Before you go and start cooking pancakes and more temperature delicate things on it, I do suggest you figure out your hot spots and learn you individual griddle otherwise you won't like it.I have also used it on the fire in the back yard. Worked great. I would take this with me if I was going camping where I parked my car. Due to the weight, I would never take it backpacking...lolI highly recommend this product.

Love this griddle
This griddle will bring your dinner party to the next level. It's easy to use and easy to clean. Follow directions on how to season it, very important step. It's very heavy and quite large so make sure you have a good spot to store it. I also purchased all the spatulas, lid and some other tools that were listed under the item as "frequently purchased together".I love cooking and entertaining and I was looking for doing something different for my guests. Hibachi is a definitely a hit!

Warps
Followed all directions exactly but still had severe warping when heated and then you put food on it. Seasoned it to burn off any residue from manufacturing by heating it on the top of the stove with all five burners going and everything was just fine but once we used it to cook it warped so bad the oil ran to two corners and almost over the edge. We did have all five burners on the same setting so the heat should’ve been pretty uniformed I’m not sure if it’s because we put cold food on it or what but can’t really put hot food on it when you’re trying to cook it on there LOL. Overall seem to be pretty well made considering it’s only a sheet of steel with a couple of handles on it I wish it would’ve worked out better I’m not sure what to do to prevent warping but if they figure out a way I would order it again.

Bring on the Habatchi
It covers almost all of a four heating element electric stove, leaving only a fraction of an inch uncovered on the heating elements. I set my oven on broil and oiled the griddle top and rotated it every 10 min to season. Learning to cook with this is a real learning curve, it is a load of fun.

One of my best kitchen investment
This is a truly solid built. The thickness of metal ensures that there will be no warp. Like any steel all you need to do after cleaning is apply thin coat of oil.In terms of heat distribution it sits well on top of four burners. I can easily create hot and warm section by controlling each burner. If you are expecting the whole tray to be of even heat, you burners will need to cover all areas of the plate. If you have typical round burners, that is not possible at all.
