I like that it can be used in line with 1.25” or 1.5” or adapt one to the other. Didn’t have a check valve in my system before and this made it super easy to install my new pump. Just had to cut the pipe and shorten a bit. Will make all subsequent sump pump replacements so much easier as you just need to loosen a clamp to remove.

This back flow preventer was part of a sump pump install I did at my sisters house during repairs after hurricane Sandy. The plastic parts / valve flap are durable heavy plastic. The heavy duty rubber boots on the ends come off and flip around to accommodate various size pipes. The clamps are heavy duty stainless steel. The valve worked perfectly during tests, after a few heavy rain storms and when a new drain pipe from a new clothes washer failed and dumped water into the basement. My sisters house is one block from the Atlantic Ocean in Long Beach NY and salt water and sand are a problem in the basement. Months later and the valve still works as it should. I do suggest you follow building code for your area and directions for both the valve and application you intend on using it for. I have and will recommend this valve to friends and family. The contractor rebuilding the house has taken note of how well the valve is made and will consider using the valve in the future. I must stress that this valve is a key part of a well thought out and designed sump pump system and contributes to its flawless operation.

My previous pump went out. So I bought a new one, and this check valve, as I believed that the pump was working too hard because it kept turning on, trying to pump out every inch of water. But some of the water was flowing back into the sump box due to gravity. Since I got this check valve, the pump turns off, and stays off until absolutely needed. I couldn't be happier with it.

I can't get the clamps tight enough to stop the leaking. Maybe it's because they are'nt PVC. Make sure you attach this to PVC pipe to make a proper seal. Other than that it does the job.
