Brilliant
Brilliant book by Marc David who is a nutritional psychologist. The book elucidates the psychology of eating by deliberating the connection between food and mind. Nourishment is not only about nutrition but your whole relationship with life. It further goes on to explain that there is no 'perfect' diet or one 'true' way to eat and that our food requirements are constantly changing.Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!

Excellent book
Focuses on deeper issues around food and nutrition found it extremely helpful and kind. Highly recommend anyone wanting to take step back from all the food and nutrition madness even if weight loss or changes in diet for health reasons are still the goal.

Soul Reviving
This book spoke to my soul. It is a beautiful Searching of your inner self and your relationship with food. It fit right in with my mindfulness practice. I am re-reading it and getting more out of it the second time around.

Great book, but just didn't resonate with me.
The core lesson in this book is to stop 'eating' and start 'nourishing'. Marc teaches some interesting concepts around your "relationship with food", and "listening to your body", but I just couldn't get past his touchy-feely over-the-top spiritual tone.I think this book would be great for someone for whom food represents a source of stress. It does present good, well researched information and the "psychology of eating" is a unique point of view not found in other diet books. At he end of each chapter there are 'reflection' exercises that help the reader to define and explore their relationship with food. This book would be great for anyone who may have a "food addiction", or who stress over eating "good" and "bad" foods, or that struggle with willpower.I know some other people that have read this book and have found it extremely useful, however it just wasn't for me. A well-meaning friend recommended this to help me with my own food "obsession", however I "obsess" over food because I have so many food allergies and intolerances. I don't have guilt and negative-self-worth around eating "bad" foods - I have an allergic reaction that lasts for days.

get this book if it appears sometimes food gets the upper hand on you
This book has been on my amazon wish list for over five years but always left to go to the back because other more promising titles came along in my search for having a happier, healthier lifestyle.Wish I'd picked it up before The First 20 Minutes, Clean, Brainmaker, Practical Paleo and a host of others began taking up space on my shelves. That's not to say that any of those other titles aren't also worth getting because they all are but, this book without any pictures gets us thinking about food slightly differently to how we have done up until now. It's a reminder to slow up, sit down and enjoy life once in a while if we want our bodies to get out of a perpetual survival mode where food doesn't get properly digested and the body stores fat (just in case).
