Beware: non-standard blades required!
The knife I received is UPC 07994632740. Standard box cutter blades (without a square hole in the middle) will not fit this knife! Also, the slide mechanism is much too difficult. I lost an older version of this knife. It was the best!

Threw these in the trash today. I have always before found x-acto products to be very good. I don't know what happened with these boxcutters but they are worthless. The thumb lever mechanism is flimsy and could not be made to work properly. The design is poor and reassembly with all the parts simply would not work. Never saw such junk before. Even if they could have been forced into position and locked closed, I would never trust this in any situation where failure would be a serious matter. Fortunately for me, I bought 2 boxcutters from a different manufacturer and they are at the opposite end of the scale - excellent to open, load, close, and use. Beware of this particular product. I did not have any problems with the seller in this case; the product itself is the problem.

Too Heavy
I bought the two pack. The cutter is way too heavy and the spring thing to open blade is flimsy. I do not recommend.

Hard to slide open & closed. Needs a better thumb knob/rest.
This utility knife works fine as far as cutting cardboard, but the slide is pretty difficult to move to open or close the blade. There is no 'knob', just a bend piece of metal to push with your thumb, and it doesn't work well.

Flimsy switch control
Flimsy thin flexible slide switch..poor design

unretractable
The blade extends, but you cannot retract it because mechanism is so, awkward and at the wrong angle. Very disappointing especially because my previous X-Acto knife lasted for 30 years and don’t believe this is genuine X-Acto material.

Four Stars
Good. One of best ive found. Good solid metal. Would be 4.5 starts.Mechanism could be slightly smoother.
