OTOMO: A Global Tribute to the Mind Behind Akira

I like this art book; it provides a brief, (brief as in a paragraph or two), backstory of the artist and motivation for their work which was inspired by Akira. Nothing too far fetched but enjoyable. Nothing fancy or elaborate here, don't expect much and this book will makes a good coffee table read for fans of the movie. This book I've read started off as a limited-edition tribute to Katsuhiro Otomo which was given to attendees of the 2015 Angoulême International Comics Festival; which was honoring Otomo as the recipient of the Grand Prize.

First of all, big shout out to Kodansha who treated me like the best when I signalised I got damaged book from Amazon order (I got it way after return deadline and Amazon Consumer Service suggested to contact with Kodansa directly). I got new book in a week and could appreciate the effort put to this beautiful book, really happy I own a great book with so much Akira fan arts by the best artists and damaged book is in Free Library of Comic Books I volounteery run.Thank you.

Interesting art from fellow artists but don't look for it to really stand out as the go to for Akira

Arrived heavily damaged super disappointed amazing book wish they would have taken better care to ship ..also it's a matte cover no high gloss so make sure ur hands r clean because it will get dirty

I'm a fan of all things akira and Otomo. I liked most of the art work. Some very good and well known manga artists featured. Worth the price if you are a fan of the classic manga and anime.

This product is what the title says, a tribute to Katsuhiro Otomo. It shows really cool renditions from great international artists of Otomo’s masterpieces and also includes excerpts of how Otomo inspired their work and style. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for a biography of Katsuhiro Otomo, don't buy this book. If you're looking for a book filled with brilliant artwork from great artists printed in high quality, this is the book for you.I was tempted to buy a second copy to cut out my favorite prints, frame them and put them up on the wall.

Really not happy with this.Whilst the book is great it looks like someone's dragged it around the floor abd I wouldn't expect to find a biro mark on it either.I'd assumed I was buying a brand new book but in fact it looks like it's come from a car boot sale!Very disappointed Amazon.

I ordered this as a gift and was really disappointed to find the marks on the cover of the book and general bad condition. A real shame as it looks 2nd hand!!!

An amazing book celebrating Otomo's original work. Lovely artwork by various artists. Can be recommended not just for Akira fans :)
