These aren't great for STARTING solids (they're a little big, and I recommend these instead https://www.amazon.com/Mumi-Bubi-Starter-Freezer-Storage/dp/B004A9ZF3Y/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1501680668&sr=8-2&keywords=1+oz+baby+food+tray), but they are PERFECT for 8 mo + or so, when you start serving more complex food in larger quantities. Anytime we'd make a casserole or blend of some sort, it was far easier to get one or two of these out for a meal or two rather than trying to fit the food into 1 oz trays and pull out 5 or 6. Also, the silicone is easier to get things out of. In the years between child #1 and child #2, we've used these to freeze yogurt for smoothies.

Great for repeated use
Very durable, and the serving size is great for older babies. It's much easier to clean than most as it has a wider opening. Highly recommend.
