The music is lovely, but I expected orchestral music instead of piano, since that is what was on the one I heard at the shelter. I wish they would tell you what kind of music and what numbers you're getting. Also, the volume is quite loud and there's no way to turn it down. It seems to work for the cat, though; I just put it facing a corner so it isn't quite so loud. She reacts to it the same as she does for the classical music on the radio, so I turn it on when they start playing jazz. The digital piano music is a little strident sometimes as well. I also wish it came with different music chips for some variety, because I have to listen to it as well.

This item was recommended by an animal behaviorist to help acclimate a very scared cat to my home. It does seem to help kitty relax, but I also find it quite soothing. Great sound and very mellow tunes, and kitty seems to enjoy it — I highly recommend!

I first saw this product in my Avarian Canaries office , they had icalmPet through a dogs ear all through there offices,, I used it on my sick RIp canary Luca at the time, seems to work on canaries to. I got 5 canaries and when i get them up every afternoon,, haha they like sleeping late, I put it on top of there cage and it seems to calm 2 canaries who get jumpy, it even relaxes me,, I like the 3 hour play time card better then the 1 hour card, not only for pets for pople too, get one and try it and you to will become relax I have so much anxiety and this speaker does the trick for me. get one and enjoy it.. I love mine, though it does not effect my cat , but my birds enjoy it,, they like it so much it makes them to quiet haha.

I purchased this item for our 14 year old cat that was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. She underwent the radio iodine treatment and had to be contained in a separate room by herself for two weeks for the radiation to wear off. This little machine is great!!!! It plays three hours of uninterrupted soft classical music that is very soothing. You can plug it into the wall and it will continuously loop the music throughout the day. I really think that it helped our cat get through the two week isolation period. Highly recommend!!! Our cat still likes having it turned on throughout the day. What can I say, she appreciates her classical music!!

I adopted a stray cat 3 yrs ago. She has always meowed and howled excessively. My vet can’t find any physical reason for it. I suspect my cat has PTSD from getting lost and starving until someone found her. My vet suggested trying icalmcat to soothe her. The device seems solidly built and it functions fine. It has not helped my cat. Here are some comments you might want to consider before buying one. It plays classical piano music. If you’re going to play the device for your cat where you’ll be hearing it, make sure you like very slow classical piano music. There are 44 tracks on the SD card that comes in the blue tooth speaker. About a dozen of those tracks are slightly different versions of the same composition! It’s C.P.E. Bach’s Rondo Espressivo. You can find that on Youtube. When we first started playing the device, we thought it must be malfunctioning because it kept playing the same composition over and over. Then we looked at the playlist that comes with the device and figured it out. It drove my husband and I crazy to hear that piece over and over and, in general, I found most of the music to be a bit depressing. These are compositions that have been specially recorded for cats but I feel cheated because I think the company that sells it should have put more work into finding and recording more compositions.

We wanted our little girl to feel cozy and not so alone when we were out. We read about this product in an article from the people who make her fountain, My Lovely Feline, and decided to try it. The music is so soothing and she seems to love it. We even like the music. Volume settings are perfect and we can keep it charged easily so it's always ready to go. When we leave her for a few hours, we come back to find her sleeping on the couch near the music so I think it's a hit.

I do love the icalmcat device. Seems to work pretty easy. Not sure why longer cord attachments did not come with it. Took me longer to figure out not to use the long page of instructions but short ones instead. Kept it on all day yesterday hoping to keep kitties and dog calm. Fireworks all around us. First time dog was not hysterically trying to hide or jump on us while going off. Glad I got it!

Product is easy to set up and use; instructions were easily followed. I'm amazed at the length of time it will play on a single charge--almost 20 hours so far. My ornery cat seems to be intrigued; over the weekend she spent more time in the bedroom with the music playing than she did in the family room with her actual "staff."Acid test will be tomorrow, when we head to vet's to attempt a blood draw for senior-kitty wellness check (for a THIRD time in as many visits). Music will go along. She's just not happy when she doesn't get her way.
