Drop dead simple; all of my mechanically inept college peers could figure it out
(Below is the review for the black refills. All of the refills are functionally identical; just pretend I said the applicable color instead of black. All of the colors are worthy of five stars.)These come in store shelf packaging. Each tube comes in its own plastic wrap (a bit wasteful) and are bundled together in a slightly-too-thin, bright green cardboard box. The box is meant to sit on store shelves, but the advertising on the side makes it stick out well when hidden in a corner next to the white board. The refilling procedure was easy enough for anyone on the floor to understand (and trust me, we're NOT all mechanical geniuses there.) The lifespan of the pen being only five cartridges is a gross understatement. we used up about half of the black before the marker vanished, then someone had the wonderous idea of loading black into the orange marker instead. Fortunately the design is pretty idiot proof, and the orange marker did become a new black. As for how well this writes, it's an absolute dream. It goes on black, and I mean BLACK. Paired with the bullet style pen (round tip instead of a flat chisel tip) it is much, much better than the expo competition. This does erase off in larger chunks, but that really doesn't affect the cleaning process at all. It's the same amount of material as with other markers, it just makes flakes instead of fine dust that floats through the air. I don't know how long each cartridge lasts compared to an expo marker, unfortunately, because it was being used by dozens of my peers over the course of the previous school year. Hopefully this stuff helped me save green in my wallet and green in the environment, but I just don't know. Even if these cost more than regular markers, I can tell you that it's a very high quality product that won't let you down. Just don't let anyone throw away or steal your markers!

Best I know of
As a community college science professor, I and my department use these quite a bit in class and lab. These pens are by far the best we have used. They stay dark and bold down to the last bit, whereas common non-refillable markers fade halfway through. Throwing away piles and piles of empty pens is unconscionable. These are also easy to replace, but you do toss the refill tube into the recycle with hopes that it actually gets recycled. One final note, given that they stay dark all the way through the ink, they save money, too. (We wish they had purple.)

Convenient and eco friendly
These cartridges last a really long time. The marker is also more superior than others. Works great on glass boards!

Excellent opaqueness and less waste
Excellent quality ink. Writes much more clearly than most erasable markers (expo, in particular, is not opaque enough for my needs)... which is important as i use it for a puzzle in my escape room where it must be legible when used to write on a picture behind plexiglass.Saves a lot of plastic waste!

Good quality refill ink
My son likes to draw and write on a dry board eraser and this is a good option instead of buying a use and throw marker
