Perfect for pinewood derby
As a young lad in cub scouts, I like everyone else in my pack, participated in pinewood derby. Also as a young lad, being charged with making a pinewood derby car required some external help aka Dad or other parental figure. So to make a long story short, I stood by and watched as Dad did all the work and yelling. Fast forward to today where my current job decided to host a pinewood derby tournament. I said "Finally! I can finally heal from some childhood trauma of not holding the flashlight still!" I did some research on what to focus on and one of the main ways to make your car the fastest down the track was to maximize the car weight at 5oz. Looking for the best weights led me to these. These tungsten weights are dense and were perfect for maximizing the the 5oz maximum. So I began construction on my very own derby car, designed and built by my own hands without help from dear old dad. I wanted to use all the weights so I ended up gluing the smaller pieces together so they were as tall as the four biggest pieces. What I should have done past this point was to glue them all together as one piece as it would have been easier to put into my car but you live and learn. I filled up the empty space between the weights with wood glue and wood filler and called it a day. Race day finally arrives and I can't wait to see my self built car that only contained my own frustrations and not those of my father's barrel down the track. Through my research and craftsmanship, I watched as my car smoked all the other cars in my heats. This was the first 5 heats I had, so my confidence and ego were at an all time high. However it soon started deflate as I started getting edged out by other cars that just were a bit faster. I dropped to the loser bracket and ultimately got eliminated. While I didn't win, I did resolve some deep rooted issues from my youth and brought me some closure. These weights are good for any pinewood derby car but the cylindrical shape can be tricky to work with but I don't think it's too much of an issue if you plan ahead. Good luck to any potential pinewood derby builders out there. P.S. I don't have issues with my dad, he's a great guy who did a lot for me and still does. Pro tip for any dad building a car with their kids, be patient.

Great weights.
I bought these to use in my son's pinewood derby car to bring the weight up to 5oz. and have it balanced where it needed to be. They worked perfectly and we ended up winning first place out of a pack of 60+ other cars. Very easy to use, accurate to size. I drilled holes in the car using a 3/8" Forstner bit and these weights fit as expected. I didn't glue them in place, just pressure fit and put a piece of tape over them to make certain they didn't come loose as I plan to use the same weights over again in next year's car.

Weights for pine wood derby
These tungsten weights are great for adding weight to pine wood derby cars. They are much more dense than similarly sized non tungsten weights.
