Would this work to make a moss pole for my indoor plants?

The netting is hard plastic, but I think it would work if you made a column of the netting and fastened the sides together at regular intervals. It might work better if you had a thick pole around which you could wrap the netting to stop the moss falling through the holes in the netting.

Could this be easily cut and used to protect a lawn?
