Seeing Stars: Symbol Imagery for Phonological and Orthographic Processing in Reading and Spelling

This technique revolves around the student's visual memory. IT doesn't actually teach students prosody at all, because sentences are not read- nor are passages. Students move from this to Visualizing and Verbalizing. I like parts of both methods, but I mourn the absence of controlled text, sentence reading, passage reading for prosody.. There is no real mention of how sounds work. It's just a very heavy load on visualization. I like their method of error correction, but I think they have reduced the rules too much. I disagree.

The ONLY method that brought success to my son's reading. We tried so many avenues, but this method strengthens long term memory retention through symbol imagery and worked wonders! This method, when used intensely for a little over 2 months at Lindamood Bell, took my son from barely knowing all his letter sounds at 7 and progressed him to a 2nd grade reading level...in only 10 weeks!
