I fell for the glowing reviews...
I really wanted to like this book, after some of the glowing reviews. I was looking for advice on self-esteem, tips, and low cost product recommendations. But, towards the end, there was all this promotion of plastic surgery, fillers, etc., and I was sad to see it end like that. That's just not for me. I cannot afford it and feel it is flaunting too much vanity. Too, I would have liked to have seen many more low cost tips, such as using baking soda for a facial scrub. Seems like far too many high-end brands were advised....after all the talk about how most high and low end products come from the same factory. I was totally disappointed.

I was disappointed. There wasn't anything really new here
I was disappointed. There wasn't anything really new here; a few of the hints were useful, but, for the most part, I already knew that stuff. I also don't agree with her premise that makeup is more important than skin care. If you don't have a good canvas, it doesn't matter what kind of paint you put on it. Finally, the real kicker was that, after all this You-Can-Look-Better stuff, it turns out that the author has had Work Done! Really! Where does that leave the rest of us who can't possibly afford such a luxury? "Thanks a lot," I thought. It's going to the Christmas Bazaar.

A little gem with big ideas
This is a fun book and an informational one. I was able to use the tips to clear out a rather overwhelming makeup bag. Okay. I admit it. There was stuff in there that I couldn't remember buying, let alone when I bought it. Tossed. I am still reading through all the tips and tricks. And enjoying it immensely. While it says, "for woment 50+" there is information in here that applies to everyone - particularly about moisturizing, saving money on cosmetics and fun-to-know tidbits. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves makeup.

Outdated product recommendations
Basic information is helpful but product recommendations are out dated. I made a list of products to try and the first three in my list were discontinued products. Would be nice to get an addendum with updated product information.

Glad it is on my Fire
For the most part, I kinda skimmed thru it, and it seems fine. I do like the fact that at the end of the chapter, she gives the names of products that she likes. She spent the money, so that I don't have to......

A little disappointed
I am not convinced all her recommendations are right for all skin types, and I think brown eye shadow isn't attractive all the time on me--tends to make me look tired. Brown tones seem to be her go-to color. I am not a fan of a shiny (dewy) look--I would look and feel oily if followed her advice on several products. She is very informative on the various brands of beauty products and overall the book is full,of interesting insider information.

Not what I thought it would be.
Did not like the book. Didn't have time to read it until after the 30 days.

Fantastic delivery to my door-step in Denmark
Fantastic delivery to my door-step in Denmark, before the time given-Thank you, Blackwell's London and amazon.uk!The book is a no-nonsense aproach to beauty. The author is an insider of the beauty industry. I reccomend this book to all ladies, but especially to those that are blindly following the beauty bloggers that are so eager to shove this or that product to you/us. I follow a few and I get carried away at times when shopping for beauty products. This is the book to keep us in the line of common sense and not spending the equivalent of a small fortune on things that either we do not need, do not work or are not worth the hype.

Great book with some new advice and tips about how ...
Great book with some new advice and tips about how to make the most of being over 50 and looking fab! I have already used some of the make-up tips with real success! I really like the 'real' talk Andrea talks! She is honest and straightforward in her approach and you feel she is in the real world and not talking to people who always have heaps of money to spend, but to the woman in the street who doesn't, but still wants to look great. I love this book and keep dipping into it.
