12 pack Cruzadel Automatic Chicken drinkers
The design is a good Idea, the production is poor. It comes without Instruction.1 out 12 did not work due to no passage ( hole) in the black part of the cup. I suggest to assemble the black part to the red cup on all 12 cups of your order. Try to blow air thru the black part of the cup by touching the yellow bead. Further make sure the bead does not touch the bottom of the cup. If that happens, you can reassemble the red cup to the black valve part in such a way that the yellow bead lets the air (water ) thru when it gets pressure from above. All of this could explained on a short instruction sheet. Also, the sales ad does not mention if it is a bucket valve or if the pipe can be connected to the garden hose. I have it connected to a garden hose but can't tell how long the valves will last under the pressure.

Love em! My husband drilled holes in a 5-gallon bucket, and these little drinkers screwed right in (It took a little muscle, but no other materials). They work great. Chicks love 'em.

I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone!!!
Due to the many previous products we have purchased from the internet, I ordered twice the quantity of these automatic chicken waterers expecting another poorly made product. When I received them I was blown away by how well these were made! These will probably last my lifetime without needing to be repaired!!! And they are ready to go right out of there package: no need to order any “adapters” or additional hardware!

Disappointed, frustrated, 6 of 8 filling with water
I have used drinkers like these before from tractor supply and I loved them. I raise coturnix quail and these drinkers are USUALLY perfect! I set up a cage water system using 8 of these cups. I am so DISAPPOINTED! After a few weeks, SIX of the cups are NOT WORKING RIGHT. They are full of water constantly and are making a huge mess! It's a non-pressurized system with a five gallon bucket and three tiers of cages. I have never had this issue before with the other cups I bought, but they are attached directly to the bucket. I'm not sure if that would make a difference, or if these cups are not made as well as what I've bought in the past from the store.

Attached to a plastic bucket as suggested. Didn't work ...
Attached to a plastic bucket as suggested. Didn't work. The yellow plastic valve is spring loaded and if pushed hard will let water flow but not enough for the chickens. Let them get thirsty several different times but to no avail. Would peck at yellow water stem but not receive much more than a few drops. They just gave up and would go thirsty. Maybe with a pressurized system, it might work.

Don't work
I just started using these as my chickens are now big enough and they don't perform as advertised. The little float in the cup is spring loaded and the spring is tight - I had to push it in to get water to come into the cup and when the cup is empty is doesn't refill. Is there some trick to this? I am past the return window or I would.

Add plumbers tape to stop leaking
So far so good. I did have to put plumbers tape on the inside and outside to stop the leaking. My chickens are young so I’m hoping they get a hang of them.

Chickens cannot hold valve down long enough to operate
Chickens are not able to get water. The stick that is connected to the valve needs to held down for a period of time in order for the water to be released.
