A Gorgeous Edition of This Monumental Work
Would I recommend someone spend $300+ on this if they're using it for self-study and practice? Probably not, I'd urge someone to save and get the portable paperback edition instead.Would I recommend someone get this edition to serve as an heirloom and presentation piece? Most definitely. And here's where I admit that I'm going against my own advice and using this one for self-study and practice because it's too beautiful to just leave it on a bookshelf forever. Plus my numbered copy is also my birth year, so it has extra special meaning for me now.If I have any gripes about this edition, it's that the color images in the first edition I own pop out so much more. The artwork really comes through better in the original, but if presented with both options at the same price (and I was going to actually read it and use it as more than just a decoration), I'd get still this newer edition because of the quality of the binding.Enough has been said about the work as a whole that I don't need to review the content, if you're looking at this you already know what it is.

Foundations for every magician.
Whether you are just curious, or looking to get into magic, this book is a must have. Very informative. It's a lot of diagrams and information, but it's critical to ceremonial magic. You'll see this information used in all forms and practices . Also, if you know anything about anything this is a gem.

Rather a lot of magical lore
Someone, I think the playwright Maeterlinck, referred to Madame Blavatsky's writings as "the lumberyard of the soul." If that's the case, then this book is the Home Depot. All the tools and gadgets for the occult craft that you'll ever need are here at a rather spectacularly low price. The ebook itself has some problems -- the illustrations do not load properly, there are the inevitable typos. The worst problem, however, is the lack of an index keyed to the ebook version. If you've forgotten where you read a particular piece of text, and it doesn't come up in Search, you'll have a lot of flipping through to do. These, however, are small problems compared to the amount of value in the texts. Israel Regardie's commentary is clear and as useful as always.

Better than I expected for the price
Pros:-Good quality paper, (Thick white paper)-High contrast printing.(Dark black ink)Better than I expected for the price. I don't know the other, more expensive editions.Cons:-Only black&white print, no colored pages. (Althought the text gives referance to color plates, there are only B/W plates)-While each volume has its own page numbering, no general numbering is given.-A lot of typhos (e.g. '1' instead of 'I', 'thr' instead of 'the')I recommend this edition. For the color plates, you can find them on the net. For the page numbering, on top of each page you can easily read the volume number. So instead of using a general page number it is possible to use the given page number together with the volume number.

It serves a purpose
Again adding to my knowledge I am grateful for the information in this book. The rituals are intense yet needed in some cases. Thank you

Honey i shrunk the Complete Golden Dawn
This work is basically a paperback facsimile of New Falcons previously published 'Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic' with some new additional material from the Regardie archives, by David Cherubim, the Cicero's and others. The text is considerably smaller to accommodate the compact new format and the formerly coloured plates are now in black and white. The majority of the new material is in the appendices but there have been some omissions from the Falcon 2003 edition, The Alchemical Teachings of Frater Albertus by Lisiewski, Inner Order Revelations: Theory and Practice by Alohim and Magic in Womans persepctive by Holloran and Pim have all made way for the new additional material, also the master index has been taken out that was new in the 2003 edition. It maybe that these changes had to be made because of restrictions on the new smaller format. Like the title says this edition is much less lumbersome than the previous New Falcon Golden Dawn tomes, and the lower price makes it much more accessible to new readers. Also i would recommend this as a reading copy for anyone who owns the large hardback editions and want to keep them in good condition.

Weird and dry
I was hoping for a great text that pulled together several of my beliefs into one workable system. I just couldn't get past how dry this text was. It's totally possible I missed how amazing it truly is because I couldn't sit through more than a few sections without wanting to claw my own eyes out. Obviously, it's not for me, but I may just not have stuck it out for the good stuff?

Anyone associated with the Golden Dawn will probably possess this ...
Anyone associated with the Golden Dawn will probably possess this already but for new comers attracted to the study of the Order, I would say its a must. Israel Regardie has revealed all. If you want to practice magic buy this book and read my other reviews and check out the works of Dion Fortune and Gareth Knight.
