Heartwarming read - wish there were pictures
I love reading the short stories in this book on my kindle here and there - it's usually bathroom reading for me - haha. Some are really short, and some are just kind of short as they vary on the amount of details. But they are all true and will touch your heart. Each chapter starts with a picture of a cat, and I'm not sure why they didn't just use a real picture of the cat being featured in the story, if they're going to put a picture there -- it's just a generic picture of a cat that's used over & over again. Oh well - I still really like it and would recommend it as "chicken soup for the cat lover" :)

Amazing tales. Best read with magic marker at hand. 3.5 stars*
This book is jam packed with stories of cats that, to name just a few: risked life and limb to save the much larger family dog from a coyote... Or found their way home over hundreds of days and miles, after getting lost on a family trip... Or, even more amazingly, found their way to their old family's new home far, far away, after having been left behind with someone else... Or showed surprising evidence of ESP--for example, the cat who was kept locked inside their apartment while its owner was at work, but somehow knew something was amiss, forced his way out and hit the sidewalk just in time to go on the attack and save his mistress from an unseen approaching stalker... Also, caring cats whose body and temperament manufactured enough milk to nurse orphaned infants of other, often larger, species...And the all too common dilemma of cats who somehow managed to stay alive without food or water for weeks until finally found, long after getting trapped somewhere impossible for them to have gotten out of on their own. Et cetera. What I DON'T like about this book is that making your way through it it is sort of like playing hide and seek: If you put it down and then want to go back to where you left off...or if, as I did yesterday, you hear on the news about a cat "miracle" that sounds like a twin of one you read here and want to go back and check that out...or if you're writing a review for Amazon and want to go back and seek out a representative mix of "miracles" to mention here... and/or you want to fact-check what you've written, it'll be quite a challenge....as there's no index, no chapter numbers, no headers, nothing to physically suggest where to look, as each of its 77 "chapters," if that's what they are, opens with the same identical black and white headshot photograph of an unnamed cat, followed by text that offers neither a headline nor preview sentence or paragraph that indicates what subject matter lies between this point and the umpteenth appearance of the next identical black and white cat headshot.*Great material. Deserved better presentation.

Heart warming!
I have a cat. And I had no idea they were capable of all these extraordinary things! Much smarter than I thought.

nice gift for the cat lover.
This book is a paperback with real stories of cats that people have found inspirational. There are black and white photos of the various cats mentioned in the stories. A cat saved a little dog from being mauled by a larger dog..One story deals with a large Siamese cat who was with his young owner when a man tried to kidnap her. Because of the ferocity of the cat, the man backed away and the young girl was able to escape. interesting reading for a cat person.

Inspiring Stories
This was an easy read. It was full of cute stories about how catsinspire us, love us and even protect us. Most stories had happy endingsbut a few were sad. However, even with the sad stories I enjoyed the book.I read only a few stories at a time and came back to the book over thecourse of several weeks. I have three cats of my own so I could relateto several of the stories. If you love cats you will probably like thisbook. Enjoy.

For cat lovers everywhere!
This is a book for cat lovers - which I consider myself - I adore my cats - and all the cats before them - some of them - you might like to have a box of tissues next to the place you're reading - because some of the stories are sad - just like life itself. If you love cats - then you're going to really like this book.

wonderful cats
I am a cat lover and they are always a big part of my life and my family. My cats are indoor cats and I think very intuitive, seemingly they know what I am doing and what part of the house I am in if they want to find me. reading this little book let me know about other cats that are smart, loved and cherished as my cats are.
