Great shades, except....
We bought 2 of these shades about a year ago. Following others' suggestions, we installed these with a nail at each end along the top and they have remained in place ever since. These shades have worked easily, kept out the light, and they were perfect as designed, that is, until today - see the photo. There doesn't seem to be a way to unlock the left side of the shade. It won't go up, it won't go down, and the right side won't do anything either. Unless someone can offer a remedy, this shade will have to be trashed. Not happy.Update: A handy husband with a wire coat hanger can perform miracles. He removed the end caps on the bottom rail and poked around with the wire until the left side dropped down. The shade works perfectly again!

Great blackout.....Not worth $50
First off let me say that these are amazing at blocking out light and creating almost complete darkness.HOWEVER, these were not as "easy" to trim to size. I followed directions correctly and it was still difficult. Once the blinds were trimmed to the correct size, you put a cap on the bottom edge. Well, I trimmed my blinds to the exact size to fit snug with minimal space on each side to keep the light from coming through. The caps they gave you add just enough length that it made the blinds not fit and get stuck. I tried to trim the window down a smidge more but forget it. If you don't cute these to the correct length the first time, it's almost impossible to make and adjustments. On top of this annoying issue, the adhesive DOES NOT WORK. Every few days the blinds were hanging down from one side. I did EVERYTHING to get them to stay. Over time and after one completely fell off in the middle of the night, I gave up. I ended up having to nail the top piece into my frame. Yes, my frame width is more than the recommended size for these blinds. Now one of the blind's base is cracked and chipped from it falling off completely and slammed into the floor. CHEAP PLASTIC. CHEAP AND WORTHLESS ADHESIVE.Lastly, they are warped at the bottom. I am not sure if this is due to them detaching on one side often, but I did notice they did not lay perfectly flat while being inside the frame when first installed.Overall the only positive thing I can say about these is they block out everything. Almost too well. But I spent $100 for two blinds that now look funky and are a piece of junk. I could have easily spent $100 and got much nicer blackout blinds.Save your money, look elsewhere and find a nicer set.

Good, but not great
Keeping in mind these are very affordable blackout shades I did have a couple challenges with these. The first is the cutting is not very easy, especially in my case I was only cutting about an inch off the total width. The second is the adhesion did not work well for me. My window ledge was a little more narrow so the full adhesion strip was not making contact (maybe 2/3 touching). As a result of this and heat they wouldn't stay up 24 hours. I ended up stapling them up, via staple gun. That did the trick. They look decent, block light, and seems to reduce sun heat. If you're not pulling them down right in the center they will get a little lopsided, but can be adjusted. The best feature is they are easy to use.

Really Loved These, At First!
Don't buy unless you can solve problem of adhesion.Love everything about them...ease of installation, blackout feature, ease of use and maintenance and still look pretty but for adhesion issue from the first. Adding more adhesive, trying double sided tape, super glue, NONE of it worked. Everytime I think my "fix" did the trick I am back to squre one two days later. It is not the window frame but the adhesive used by the company as it is always the same, but different location on each shade, that start to sag a couple days later and my fixes are still attached to window sash/frame.I bought 2 and I am on a fixed income so buying new ones not an option at this price. I have also wished the company offered a fix.

Good for renters, if you own, spend the money to get something better.
It's a decent product if you can't install permanent shades that are custom fit (and cost a lot more). But my problems:1. Quality Control is an issue. The quality of the products (I think I bought like 9-11 shades overall for my apartment), is ranges vastly from acceptable/good to terrible. Some of the shades roll down very smoothly like a permanent shade but others get stuck, become unbalanced, and I had one I bought a couple of months ago break on me while I was pulling it down. Very inconsistent and somewhat unreliable.2. I understand the only way you can make this work is to get the customer to cut this themselves. But trying to cut it is a total pain.3. The sticky back doesn't really stick for too long.4. The plastic housing at the bottom feels very flimsy.5. The plastic housing turns yellow after a year or so.Generally recommended for renters who don't want to front the money for a legit shade that's screwed into the window recess. But don't expect anything amazing.

Perfect blackout behind my shutters.
These were a wonderful solution to my shutters that let in too much light. Easy-ish to cut (do not use a serrated edge) and easy to install. I read other reviews that mentioned that the adhesive did not hold for long so I opted on using my staple gun to give them extra adhesion. These are lovely, block ALL light and work well. I am very pleased.

Not as described
I had to give 1 stars but really this should be 0 stars. It’s impossible to get this cut straight on the first, second or third time. It’s not as simple as they say and a decent knife was ruined in the process. Once it was finally cut straight on the end, we installed it. All seemed amazing until night time and realized that the styrofoam in the bottom rail didn’t go all the way through so light came through the plastic. Also the bottom rail was warped and wouldn’t sit flat, so again not a great seal. It was just for our cabin and we figured we could deal with it. We came back out the next weekend and found the blind on the floor. It did not stay adhered like it said. We tried a bunch of different things to get it to adhere, nothing worked. We are in the process of returning this hunk of junk. Save your money and buy something that is better quality. Thank goodness Amazon is so amazing about their return policy. They get a 5 star for that.

Easy and simple, value for the money
Not a big investment and still delivers the expected result. Looks nice and it’s really, really easy to install. You need to have the proper tool to trim it. The rooms get really dark and helps controlling the temperature as well. The only minor issue is that, when opening or closing, it gets uneven - one side slightly higher then the other - and that doesn’t look the best. However, if you open/close pulling exactly in the middle, it should work well.Overall very good experience for the money.

HAPPY!
This blind quality is better than I have expected. It is quite sturdy but pretty light for a female to hang it up on the wall. I have it covered for my East side window which blackouts the sunlight very well for the early morning. My room temperature went down about 2-3 degrees after it's installed. I was lucky enough not having to trim the width as it fits perfectly. Length though is not long enough. I had to use a velcro tape as the glue was not strong enough. It's very well packaged and arrived the next day. Overall it's a great product for the value!! If you are looking for an easy installation, blackout, well made blind: this is the ONE!

The blind doesn't stick!
This is a nice-looking blind that blocks light as advertised. Too bad it doesn't stick in place as advertised! This blind is supposed to stick in place. I installed it in a vinyl window, wiped it all down with alcohol as directed in the instructions, waited more than the recommended 1/2 hour before using it, and by morning it was laying at the bottom of the window! Obviously, the tape they provide on the blind is useless. I ended up buying a long strip of industrial Velcro to get the thing to stay up. I shouldn't have to do that with an $89 blind! I now see where many have experienced the same problem.
