I have been practicing various kinds of drumming exercises and movements (Hand drumming of numerous styles of drums, American style drumming and Taiko Drumming) for many years. Over the years I have bought numerous kinds of drum sticks to do my practice sessions with, and I recently purchased this type (Grip Stix, “16” long, non-slip, blue Timbale drumsticks-$12.97) because they were bargain priced on Amazon. In the past, and even now, I think this model drum stick designed for drum aerobic classes was WAY OVERPRICED ($28.00 plus S/H cost); however, if you search Amazon you will find these drum sticks much cheaper and free shipping In any case, I was very pleased with the fast service receiving these drum sticks in only one day.They are well balanced and feel great in the hands for regular drumming practice; however, my only complaint is that their diameter is a little thin because I practice Taiko drumming in which the sticks used are somewhat thicker. I do like the length and weight of the drum sticks when doing some standard type exercises with them for fitness. These drum sticks are ideal for various kinds of drumming workouts.Rating: 4 Stars. I do cardio drumming and using their smooth sticks, I was always afraid that the drumsticks would slip out of my hand, injuring someone behind me. No problem with these! I can concentrate more on the music and the moves and less on keeping a death grip on the sticks.

They aren't what they're advertised to be. I was under the impression with everything that it said in the description about how they're for working out etc that they could be used for POUND. And I mean they can but they're not the right kind. They're not weighted so there is no added benefit to having them. They're just regular drumsticks...that's it. If you're looking for regular drumsticks I'm sure these are great but if you need them for workout purposes spend the extra money to get the right ones.

These sticks were way too light to be used for Pound workouts! Two of them together may have equaled the weight of one stick. The tips were very thin and seemed like they would snap off easily. I would say these are more for actual drumming rather than to be used in a fitness class. I returned.

Purchased these because of the rubber grip. If you do cardio drumming, you know that sticks can fly when the sweat starts pouring. These sticks stay in my hands no problem and have stood up to a few weeks of drumming. Would purchase again!

Bought my own pair for cardio-drumming class at the gym because these had a grip covering with is VERY necessary when sweating to the beat! Should come in PURPLE though, but these are perfect for all the fun we have and I don't fling 'em across the room.

These broke immediately. My 11-year-old tiny drummer used them so he can’t hit much harder than typical drummers. Got no response re: return request.

I got these for my son -- a blooming drummer. He just got a new set of digital drums and was looking for new sticks as well. He has achondroplasia and his limbs are quite short. So normally we just cut sticks down to size. That's not the best and affects the balance and feel. However, he told me that not only were these sticks cool, but they fit him, too! Amazing. So, needless to say, we are very happy with the drumsticks and will order some more.
