Great quality
Works Great and Keeps the Bugs Away This outdoor bug zapper works exactly like it should. I set it up on my back patio, and within a few minutes it started attracting and zapping bugs like crazy. It’s surprisingly quiet and doesn’t give off a strong odor like some others I’ve tried. The light is bright enough to cover a good area without being too harsh. Cleanup is simple, and I’ve noticed a big difference in how many mosquitoes and gnats are around when we’re outside in the evenings. Definitely worth it if you enjoy spending time outdoors without getting eaten alive.

GOOTOP Electric Bug Zapper: Backyard Fly Killer and Moth Graveyard
TLDR; A highly effective, chemical-free solution for immediately eliminating nuisance flying insects like moths, flies, and gnats over a large area (up to 1/2 acre). It’s low-maintenance and built with safety in mind. While excellent for general flying pests, its effectiveness against biting mosquitoes is limited. A solid buy for managing patio pests. I bought the GOOTOP Bug Zapper because my patio evenings were constantly ruined by dive-bombing moths and annoying houseflies, especially during our evening cookouts. I was also hoping to tackle the mosquito problem. Its promise of a 4200V electric grid, 1/2 acre coverage, and simple 3-prong plug installation convinced me. My initial thoughts were that any reduction in flying pests would be worth the cost. For larger, light-attracted insects, this device delivers a satisfying, instant result. Detailing the Experience and Analysis This zapper is an absolute beast when it comes to flies, moths, and other nocturnal insects attracted to UV light. Almost immediately after plugging it in at dusk, the "zaps" started—and they were frequent. It provides incredible, visible results against a wide range of nuisance flyers, making our immediate patio area much more comfortable by eliminating the biggest, most irritating bugs. It’s built with durable ABS plastic and features an anti-shock cage, making it safe to use around my family. The hang-ring makes placement easy, though you will need an extension cord since the attached cord is relatively short. The coverage area seems accurately large, as I placed it about 25 feet from our main seating area, and it successfully lured the pests away from us. Cleanup is simple: the dead insects fall into a removable tray, which you can brush clean. The bulb is also easily replaceable, ensuring long-term utility. A note on Mosquitoes: While the product is marketed for mosquitoes, traditional bug zappers are generally less effective against them because mosquitoes are primarily attracted to carbon dioxide and body heat, not UV light. I noticed a much higher kill count of moths and beetles than actual biting mosquitoes. For a serious mosquito issue, this should be used as one component in a broader pest control strategy (like eliminating standing water or using fans), rather than a sole solution. Pros High-Voltage Grid: The 4200V grid provides instant, reliable elimination of flying pests. Wide Coverage: Effectively covers a large area up to 1/2 acre. Chemical-Free: A safe, non-toxic, and odorless method of pest control. Easy Maintenance: Features a removable tray and includes a brush for quick cleanup. Durable and Safe: Built with an anti-shock outer cage and durable, weather-resistant materials. Cons Limited Mosquito Effectiveness: Mostly kills light-attracted insects (moths, flies) and not the biting mosquitoes attracted to CO 2 . Kills Beneficial Insects: Like all traditional zappers, it indiscriminately kills moths and beetles, some of which are beneficial. Short Power Cord: Requires an extension cord for most outdoor placements. Verdict The GOOTOP Bug Zapper Outdoor is a 5-star product, but only for its core function: killing light-attracted, nuisance flying insects. It creates a satisfyingly quiet, fly-free zone on the patio by drawing pests away from your gathering area. It’s built well, safe, and provides an immediate, noticeable reduction in general bug populations. For the price and ease of use, it is an excellent investment for anyone wanting to reclaim their outdoor space from moths and flies.

It's a zapper and it works
After having it sit around my living room for a month. I noticed that 1. It primarily worked best in low light conditions ( best in complete darkness) 2. Got rid of the tiny flies and insects the most 3. Was occasionally loud ( a big moth makes it sound like multiple shots being fired) In the garage , during night time , it did perform better but I wasn't blown away or anything . The cord is pretty short so unless you're placing it next to an outlet , you'll need an extension . All in all , its alright

Finally a night without buzzing and bites!
I bought this lamp for my patio in Miramar because the mosquitoes were driving me crazy. From the first evening, the difference was noticeable: the UV light catches the bugs and the electric grid zaps them instantly. I even saw several mosquito carcasses in the tray the next morning. What I loved: It’s quiet — the “zap” sound is gentle, not disruptive, so I could relax with clients without noise bothering us. Works both indoors and outdoors. I plugged it near the roof overhang and placed it about 3 hours before customers arrived; by the time we were chatting the yard was much calmer. Easy cleanup: just slide out the bottom tray, empty it, wipe it down, and done. Things to keep in mind: The UV glow is noticeable at night. If you put it too close to where people sit, the light might irritate the eyes. Placement matters: I found it works best away from where people are sitting — you don’t want it near the seating area because it draws mosquitoes toward it (and potentially toward you if you’re too close). Also, keeping it some distance from other light sources improves its effectiveness. Overall: This mosquito-killer lamp was a good investment. For the cost, I felt like I got value because the environment went from buzzing chaos to quiet and comfortable. If you’re as tired of mosquito bites and zzz-zapping sounds as I was, I definitely recommend giving one a try.

This Bug Zapper works!
The item was delivered in a timely manner and required no set up - simply plugged it in and it got to work. There is one thing that any buyer needs to know up front. When the bugs hit the zapper there is a pop that takes some getting used to. I mean, it is actually startling at first. I definitely could not fall asleep with it in the same room - not initially anyway. The other thing that potential buyers need to know is that moths can also enter the plastic grill and get caught on the zapper. Moths will sizzle and smoke on it so I would advise that a quick unplugging and shaking the moth off the metal or the continuous sound will of the sizzle will make anyone a little perturbed. With that out of the way, the unit is light, has a ring for hanging it and I personally found the form of it reminiscent of a lantern so it fit in with my aesthetic. The light is bright which serves as the attractant. As I have used it, I have developed various strategies for getting the maximum benefit from it. Setting it in a dark/darkened room for a few minutes will attract the flying insects in that room to the zapper, meaning much less bites for you. I would be feeling mosquito bites at all times of day. With the zapper less than two meters from my legs, I no longer suffer from the bites. I will be ordering at least two more of them to cover other spaces in the house. Amazon also has the replacements for the bulbs when that time comes. The sound of the zap is quite satisfying! Wow! BEST INVESTMENT I made all year
His thing is he BEST purchase I have made all year. The amount of insects it captures is WAY better, more cost effective, than anything else. I’ve caught moths bugs any flying thing, and I don’t have to spend tons of money monthly tryina keep up with it I left it on for 2nd the straight, bulb still in, and I have not turned it off for 2months straight. I left it in my garage so I never turn it off, since insect try getting in thru garage door, so I gotta make sure they don’t come inside the house before going thru garage so it stays on all the time, and it’s been in for 2months straight now. I even hit it once and it fell and bulb and lamp still working… incredible work. This thing honestly was the BEST gift and present I could’ve ever bought all year. I’m SO HAPPY. Can’t express with words how thankful I am for this thing. It’s SO SO helpful. I ended up buying 2 more, just in case, for anything else I wanna go

Great price and works!
Love the blue light, and it's very portable. Worked well, but I think Zevo caught more insects.
