This is a very well made and attractive hose reel. Feels substantial and wind up is smooth. Unreeling is equally smooth. Not cheap, but it "reeks" of quality!!

This is a great hose reel. We wanted something small and not too ugly. I didn’t know how it would work with the handle so close to the ground, but the handle is really easy to turn and I have no issues with that at all. It is metal, so it does get a little bit hot in the sun, but most of the time I am wearing gardening gloves so if I rest my hand on it while winding the hose, that is not a problem. It is very sturdy and blends in with the scenery. Just what we wanted!

Due to the wording in the description, I was unsure if this would work for our 100-ft long 3/4" house (it does, by the way!). I was sitting on the fence for a while and even came close to buying another hose with a smaller 5/8" width to make sure it was capable with this reel box. I finally said screw it and bought this reel box (I figured that since the hose fittings are all the same size regardless of hose width, I would at the very least be able to attach my 3/4" hose to this reel box to test it out. I'm glad I waited and not buy a new 5/8" or 1/2" hose because as mentioned, this reel box worked for my large 3/4" hose with no issues. I'm happy with the purchase. It's sturdy, cranks/reels very well, and looks great. Why am I giving it 4 stars you ask? I'm giving it 4 stars because of the stress the description unnecessarily caused me before I bought it (joking but not joking) and the stress the instructions caused me after I received it (again, joking but not really). For the price, I expected a lot more from the manual. No I don't need thick glossy paper, I just need the manual to be to the point and not have superfluous things in it to confuse me. Here is an example of what I mean: let's say we are teaching someone what eyelashes are via an illustration. We would draw the outline of an eye (maybe a football shape) with hair growing out of the top part, right? Now instead of this simple picture I just described, imagine a picture where we have an eye with everything drawn (sclera, tear duct, cornea, iris, pupil) and even imaginary parts like an earlobe or something attached lol (yes the illustrations in the instructions manual had details that were non existent on the actual product!). You get the idea. This is one of those cases where it's probably better to NOT look at the manual. Just read the words or figure it out on your own (which is pretty simple), but whatever you do, DO NOT look at the pictures/illustrations. Like Medusa it'll turn your brain to stone. I probably spent more time trying to find what was illustrate than actually putting the thing together. As a matter fact, if the instructions just said "it's just winding a hose on a reel, figure it out yourself". I probably would've given it 5 stars lol. Despite my annoyance with the illustrator, the box itself is fantastic (don't worry, the metal casing already comes put together, thank goodness lol). Lastly, some of you might find this review helpful, but are confused why I didn't also upload a picture of the illustrations. If I had it, I would have uploaded. I think I burned it the moment I realized this product is a keeper and don't need to be returnrd lol. Take care everyone!

Very good and sturdy

Let me start by saying that my experience with Giraffe Tools hose container has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the defective product to the abysmal warranty service, this company has managed to disappoint at every turn.Upon receiving the hose container, I was initially impressed by its design and promised functionality. However, my optimism quickly turned to frustration when I discovered that the unit was defective. The reel mechanism was jammed, rendering the entire container useless. The belt would fall off the spline while rotating, the spline wasn’t fastened to shaft.In my attempt to resolve the issue, I reached out to Giraffe Tools customer service. After explaining the problem and providing a video showcasing the malfunction, their response was shockingly inadequate. Instead of acknowledging the defect and offering a prompt solution, they suggested sending me a replacement belt. A replacement belt for a jammed reel? Are they serious?When I insisted that a belt would not fix the underlying issue, they backtracked and said they would need to send a screw from China for me to fix it myself. Yes, you read that right. They expected me to wait for an international shipment of a single screw to repair their shoddy product and do a tear down of the unit.Frustrated by their incompetence, I turned to Amazon for assistance. To my relief, Amazon promptly resolved the issue and provided me with a satisfactory solution. Their customer service was efficient, understanding, and focused on resolving the problem, unlike Giraffe Tools.What's even more disappointing is that Giraffe Tools boasts a two-year warranty for their products. However, when it came time to honor that warranty and replace the defective unit, they failed miserably. A warranty is only as good as the company's willingness to stand behind its products, and Giraffe Tools fell short in this regard.In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend Giraffe Tools hose container or any of their products.Their lackluster quality control, dismissive customer service, and failure to honor warranty commitments are clear indicators of a company that prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and avoid Giraffe Tools at all costs.
