Totally impressed with the design and quality
I have three 3-1/2" steel basement columns that needed dressed out. We're just about to the point of needing to drywall, so I pulled these out and installed them. The quality of the design and molding is excellent. The break-away tabs all broke where they were supposed to. I was half expecting a different tab to break during the process, but none ever did. That speaks very well for the design and quality. The plastic is obviously polystyrene which doesn't handle shock or impact, so I'll just have to wait and see how they hold up to having drywall screwed to them and any future hits or bumps. I would have preferred they were made from HIPS or ABS which inherently is more sturdy. Installing them was a breeze. They snapped to the columns and held in place very well... and yet could be adjusted up/down or rotated. I used a $40 laser that I had used for general framing to rotate/align all the frames to where they were square with the room. I doubt it would have been that accurate or repeatable if I didn't have a laser at my disposal. I would highly recommend these at least for a 3-1/2" column. I would hope that they also work well for a 3" or 4" column....

Easiest way to wrap lolly column
This product made wrapping my lolly column so easy. After I snapped it around the column, I screwed the wood boards around it, painted it and It look terrific.

Works great
I used this to cover a 3" lally column in my basement. I used construction adhesive to ensure they were well attached to the pole and didn't move while installing the covering. It works great as long as you line it up well before the adhesive sets. I anchored the top and bottom of the column cover with 2x4 boxes sized to match these frames. It worked really well and looks amazing. It feels really sturdy. I used common board as a cover, not drywall. Using 1.5-inch finishing screws secured the cover well to the frames. I drilled first to ensure the board didn't crack but I would imagine drywall screws would go through the plastic easily without predrilling. Overall really happy with these. Beats the heck out of making your own with 2x4 and a hole saw.

Not bad
Pretty straightforward. It comes with good, simple directions. The video on here shows pretty much how it works. The little tabs are very easy to remove and can be done by hand. For what it's intended for I think it's pretty good...with one or two caveats. It includes pre-drilled holes for mounting. I tried using these and while they grip a standard #6 coarse thread drywall screw fairly well, it won't grip well enough to allow the head of the screw to recess just below the paper. To get around this, I found drilling through the plastic worked better. You just have to be careful where on the plastic you drill, ie. not on the corners and not through the middle (see pic). One reviewer said "DO NOT USE" the "drywall screw drill". If you don't have much experience using a drill driver, you probably shouldn't. If you do, this is just fine to use; in fact, you'll have to use it if you drive the screws through the plastic (unless you want it to take all afternoon and wake up sore the next day)As one reviewer mentioned, even after attaching the drywall/wood/etc it will still be able to spin and will need to be attached to something to limit the movement. I recessed it into the drywall in the bulkhead like a square peg in a square hole, worked.Overall, I think it's a good buy.

Easy, convenient and time saving
Although the simpliframe comes in 4's, I chose to use 5 of them per 8 foot lally column, just to make things a little more sturdy. First I marked the locations with a magic marker, then I squared them up and glued them (heavily) to the poles. At another reviewer's suggestion, I applied 1/2 inch plywood on the outside, using glue and screws, to make the framing even stiffer so when I applied the final layer of 1/2 inch sheetrock, the result was a very sturdy, good looking job. I used rounded corner bead and, once completely finished, it looks perfect. Good product.

You can't email or talk to someone!!!!!! And the product potentially has some merits
I used this product for wrapping my lally columns in my basement. The picture given for instructions is not clear in its written directions. The directions state to snap off, with supportive visual evidence , to the desired diameter of your lally column. The problem is you dont have to snap off anything for a 3" diameter lally column. In my case, I was too late to correct their error.

Amazing little device
I had metal support poles that i wanted to cover and make em look like nice pillars. Used this to mount on the metal poles, You dont have to drill of put any thing into the pole itself. It holds nice and tight around it and makes it easy to install pillar wraps.
