Great stuff! Make sure you do the exercises at the end of the chapters. They are quite helpful in getting the concepts.

Not black and white and a hard read. Seems like the author talks in circles and goes on and on and on and never gets his point across. Goes into so much detail, its hard to follow and the author does not keep it simple

A review on this book might be pointless since I'm assuming most people buy it out of necessity for a class. I don't know what it is about this thing, but it was hands-down the most confusing and hard to understand textbook I've ever read. Granted I was very unfamiliar with philosophy concepts, but I have a 4.0 GPA and found myself reading the same passages over and over again and still having trouble "getting it".

Excellent book! The author occasionally inserts her own opinion or posits too much when speculating on the implications of philosophers' ideas, which is annoying. Other than that, this book is perfect. It covers a wide range of perspectives, including Eastern, African, and Native American philosophy, in addition to plenty of information on Western philosophers.

Ok I know this is Philosophy book, but could it be more dry and at time unreadable? Could have been made to be more interesting. Im reading this because I have to.

It was for school, the price is ridiculous, likely because they know we would need it. It did make for interesting discussion on certain topics, overall it was helpful however I would not buy it for personal use of course.
