GBA SP Battery Replacement, 900mAh Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery with Tool Kit Compatible with Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP

Found my Gameboy Advance SP stored in the attic and after pulling dusting off the cobwebs, found the original battery no longer held any charge. Hoping to restore functionality without high cost, I purchased this replacement battery. Installation was simple - one screw to access the compartment, swap the old for the new battery, replace cover. No soldering or hardware modifications needed. After charging overnight, I was pleased to power on the SP to find it running like new. The battery icon showed full charge. I spent several hours playing Pokemon FireRed and it maintained charge well. Here are the pros and cons after a few weeks of use: Pros: - Low cost way to revive an SP with dead battery - Easy, drop-in installation - Comes with all tools needed for replacement. - Holds a charge comparable to original Nintendo battery - Allowed me to restart playing a beloved childhood game system Cons: - Can't verify actual mAh or overall lifespan yet so who knows how long these will last. Overall, I'm thrilled to have my Game Boy SP back in action for under $10. It was an affordable fix that delivered good enough functionality. Fantastic set! Very well worth the money. Battery charged up well and holds charge without issue. Extra tools are a huge plus especially because the tri-wing is a must-have tool for most nintendo handhelds. Fits just like the old one. Only thing is I caution using the second tri-wing screwdriver with the edges - it can damage the case. Just make sure to use the slender one. As that's a bonus tool and the other two are perfect and I might just not understand it's use - 5 stars hands down. Great great value

Oh this saved my life!!! I'm so blessed to have found this battery pack! My original battery that came with the SP was swelling. It lasted 20+ years what a trooper! It fit nice and snug in my SP and now it works like new. The handy screwdrivers to open the system is a bonus.

This was the perfect battery replacement for my GBA SP. Other batteries that are marketed as 1000mAh or over seem to be nowhere near that capacity, thus making the choice in buying this one easier. This might be the only one that appears to last as long, if not longer than the OEM battery. Other than that, the battery looked clean, no smell or bubbling. I rated this 5 out of 5 stars as my old GBA SP boots up and games for 5 or so hours!

Edit: This went from 2 stars to 4 after the seller saw my review and offered to make it right. This sort of remarkable customer support is admirable and appreciated. I prefer not having to ask for assistance, but it's surprising in this day and age to have it. OG: I got this because my battery didn’t last at all. At first it lasted a few hours. After less than two years, the battery now lasts only about 1 hour. It’s a shame. This was a highly rated battery with lots of capacity, but didn’t last.

Works really good

Purchased this for an 101 model gameboy with a poor battery. New battery works well, and the charge holds up after several hours/days of use. Hit about 5-6 hours before I hit red on max brightness (but still not dead) Would Purchase again.

So far so good, lasts longer than the original battery. That being said I'm not using it with a IPS screen so I don't know how well it'll last with a IPS screen
