Chicology Free-Stop Cordless Zebra Roller Shades / Combi Blind Curtain Drape, Dual Layer, Sheer or Privacy - Striped Dove, 36"W X 72"H

The media could not be loaded.  I already own these blinds bought from other online stores last year for my new home. I am changing 4 of my other windows which needs the same pattern and finally bought them from ware house as the price is half the original price.We love these blinds and they are the best to operate for kids and adults. The locking cordless mechanism works great and its easy to pull up and pull down and no more cords hassle.I bought these blinds from warehouse few weeks back and one of them was damaged and returned back to the warehouse. I bought another again which was delivered just today and when opened, this is also broken piece. The warehouse says its like new, in fact they are broken.So, out of my 4 blinds two of them are broken :( So, if you are luck enough then these blinds might work great.I've attached working blinds pictures to take a sneak peak on how they look.Pros:1. Easy to install2. Easy to operate (Pull up and pull down from the center)3. The cordless can be stopped anywhere and it easy to see through outside4. The sheer gives cool and warm look when you need to look outside of the window5. Privacy is great and you can pull down completelyCons:1. Out of my 2 working blinds. One blind works without any issues. The other one has an issue where it sometimes doesn't go up and you need to just pull down slightly and then it worksUpdate: Added video of one of the blind that doesn't work free flow from the bottom. It has to be pull down and pull up again.Just to know before you buy, these are light filtered blinds and not light blocking. So, choose before you buy.

I received a bad batch and I contacted amazon for a replacement shipment. The shipment just arrived yesterday. My husband installed them and they look so good. I am happy with this product. I first intended to order the shades from Costco's partner and the estimation came over with nearly 6 grands for the whole house with 15 windows. I cancelled it and ordered this product from Amazon (it's the product of Chicology). So far, I am happy with these zebra sheer shades. Since these shades are pre-cut, exactly like what they stated in the prescription, due to the zebra sheer shade's mechanism, the cassette valance will be cut shorter than your window's width 1/2 inch and the fabric will be shorter than your window's width 1 inch each side, so users want to order these shades should do your measuring your windows and make a decision on which size they want. For example: if your window's width is 35 3/8, you might want to pick 35 x 72, because if you pick 36, the cassette valance (35 1/2) would not fit inside the window (that's what happened to my windows). And when you install it, expected that it might have some gaps which allows light to leak in (the gap from 3/8 inch + 1/2 inch and 1 inch shorter each side), those gaps are expected due to pre-cut products and sheer shade mechanism. Overall, my family and I are really happy with this product.

Well, I'm not so sure that I like them. I like the concept, and I have four other windows with zeba mesh rollers installed (although not this brand, and they're not "Free-Stop").I bought two of these 58W x 72L rollers. I love the Free-Stop concept. I love every other zebra mesh window roller that I've purchased in the last month or two here.I thought this type of roller blind would be perfect for my bedroom but here's the problems:1) The first two boxes arrived damaged in two totally different ways. This issue was alleviated by Amazon very painlessly and they sent free replacements.2) The installation for an *internal mount* was painful. As other reviews have said, the angle that you must achieve to hook the lip of the the shade housing onto the bracket is difficult to impossible. I ended up remedying this by buying a new 1/4" drill bit and using the plastic screw anchors as a way of adding some space between the bracket and the top of the ceiling of the window area. It was still difficult to get them in but.. the thing is installed.3) It doesn't look as good as my other zebra window rollers. It's "gappier" on the left and right than all of my other ones, and because this is an apartment, I have to keep my white venetian blinds mostly down behind them. So on either side of the mesh, it's painfully obvious that I have cheaper tackier window covering immediately behind them. This isn't a problem with any of my other zebra roller blind installations.I *do* like the concept, but for this specific brand, if I had it do over: I would order them about 6-10 inches wider and go with an external mount.These are not your friend if you're thinking about internally mounting them, save yourself the trouble and go with wider/external mounting if you get these.To be fair:I would have been happier (by a star or two), despite the flaws with my first order and the installation hassle if I had gone with wider and extternal mountingAs to it's operational functionality, they slide very smooth. I'm just not so happy about the aesthetic at this point, now that I've gone through the installation right-of-passage.

I ordered 4 of these and 3 of the shades were unusable. I returned them and the replacement was fast and no complaint from the seller. However, these shades have been installed about a month and the ones in the bedroom are not even along the sides. The details said 1/2" on each side (where there's no shade) but as you can see in the photos, it's about 2" on one side and 1/2" on the other side. Because you are unable to order the exact size (I knew this) the head rail moves to the right or the left at the headrail. One of the 3 shades has now developed a "buckle" or unevenness in the top 1/2 of the shade when it is pulled down it "gaps" between the room and window side. I love the IDEA of these shades. They ROLL really well.. I have been extremely careful not to roll them up or pull them down too quickly. They are very smooth when they roll, but do not always roll evenly. I'm not sure if it's just this company or if all the makers of this type have trouble. These were not packed very well. One shade arrived totally off the roller, one shade has a 2" tear/cut horizontally on the shade and one shade (could have been a return?) would not roll. if you are trying these INSTALL THE SHADE BEFORE CUTTING THE CLEAR BAND!

We were on the search for cordless blinds that are easy to operate and that you don't have to clean constantly. Life is too short to clean unruly blinds. We ordered these for our baby's nursery and were super impressed with the quality and the ease of installation. The cordless free-stop feature is super smooth. They're absolutely fantastic. We mounted them externally, which I would recommend if you want to block out all the surrounding light. Ultimately we bought one that is 4 inches longer than the window width and it's perfect. A word of caution on the color selection: we bought the mocha color and it's lovely but we have lush green trees on the west side of our house and when the sun shines through those leaves and into the room, it does produce a gnarly yellow color on the blinds when they are closed but that's not the product's fault - that's nature's. So just think carefully about the light that comes through your windows when choosing a color. We will be ordering the granite color for our bedroom as we think that will cast a better light. If you're on the fence, this product will not disappoint. We couldn't be happier!

I have hung 4 of these shades....soon to be 5! I was looking for something different, didn't want to do the cellular blinds again. I think these are fabulous! The Chicology ones are not cheap looking at all. I even looked at other brands before purchasing and thought they just looked very cheap so I couldn't be happier with my decision. We had no problem hanging them (mostly 35" but 1 was a 72") so I'm not sure why there are so many complaints about the installation. Love the cordless design and they move up & down smoothly although 1 is a bit tough when it gets to the top. I think my friends are jealous that I have a unique concept in window treatments!I was debating between the khaki and mocha and I'm thrilled I went with khaki. I didn't want something too dark when the shades were down to make the room look stark. And the bonus is when the shades are down and it's daytime, it produces a nice soft glow in the room. I had to contact customer service a few times and they were always MORE than accommodating which seals the deal on them earning my business!

We purchased four of these blinds for our office, and the concept is very nice. Having the ability to go from light filtering and the ability to see what is going on outside, to covering the window in the evening, is very convenient. The only issue we have is the gaps on the side and also on the bottom. There is an 1" gap on each side of the shade to accommodate the mechanism at the top, which we do not prefer, and now have to add decorative wood strips on the side to cover the gaps. The same thing with the length, when switching between light filtering and covered, there is a gap at the bottom that cannot be covered.Great idea, but does not cover the window when it gets dark. This shade is not suitable for a bedroom unless it is used with curtains.

The media could not be loaded.  Ok, so we looked everywhere for blinds and had a few companies come to our home to give us quotes. We found this seller on amazon and have ordered 18 blinds so far. Several of the blinds arrived and we have installed them which turned out to be very simple. We really like the way the Zebra blinds look. It give the home a modern feel. Word of caution is to account for the 1/2" header difference when ordering. our window was 34.5" so we ordered the 35" which fit perfectly. Also the shade is smaller than the top by a few inches but this should still cover the window. We have been hesitant to leave review as these blinds are hard to find on amazon to order in specific sizes due to the popularity! So far I would rate the blinds and the company 5 stars. Order these and save thousands verses getting them from Lowes/Home Depot!

main plastic body was broken when it arrived as if it had been dropped on the corner. At least the broken bit was there so I can superglue it together if I ever get around to it. The main issue though is the brackets used to attach it to the window frame. Somehow, you have to align three brackets, accurately drill 6 holes and attach all three brackets to the underside of the window opening, then hold the body of the blinds against all three brackets evenly, push the body back and up to engage the brackets in the channel, an almost impossible feat working on a step ladder with one useless arm (due to a stroke). I did manage to get them to stay up for all of a day before they fell when being pulled to the down position.Love the cordless concept and they looked good for the day they were up, but can't recommend them for the unnecessarily difficult mounting system. They were also overly expensive for what you get.

Tired of the plain builder-white window blinds that had been hanging in my den since I bought my house, I decided to search for something different. These zebra blinds from Chicology are perfect! The install (done by a neighborhood handyman) took all of 20 minutes for three windows.I love the versatility of having them completely blackout all light, or allow a bit of light through the sliding alternating ‘zebra stripe’.When I first had them hung, one of them wouldn’t stay completely drawn, rolling back up about a foot from the bottom of the window seal (see pics)...thankfully a quick call to Chicology’s Customer Service and a very kind representative explained how to adjust the tension of the blind and the issue was fixed before the call ended!Now, if only they’d come in a variety of colors.

Beautiful Shades, smooth and easy to install. I would have given it a 5 star, I took one star off because of the measurement was way off. So I got the 23" ordered and it came and said it is 23". Real measurement, the top housing is 22.5" and the actual shaded width is 20.5". So if you are ordering this, get few inches longer than you needed to. I ordered this to cover the glass part of my french door, so I wanted as close to exact size as possible. I exchanged it for the same product but with extra 3 inches in measurement. Hope this helps

Giving four stars due to one of my three blinds being sticky when trying to roll up. This same blind rolls up a little unevenly. I have not contacted the company. I would probably order again. Very affordable compared to these similar styles from the pros.

I use these blinds along the back wall of my dinning/office space & kitchen. They look great with my brick wall and are great for letting in lots of light. If you're looking for black out blinds, this isn't it. The rolling mechanism doesn't always roll up smoothly so you definitely have to go slow. In my opinion these blinds are not for kids. My communication with the customer support staff at Chicology went okay but it took 4 weeks to get the mounting brackets that wasn't included in one of the boxes, only for it to be the wrong size.

These blinds look terrific and pull down easily. There is just one problem for me and that is unless the mounting is perfectly flush they become off kilter over time. I had to hang mine from the ceiling and 2 of them are only rolling up two thirds of the way now because of how uneven the blind has become. Not much I can do about that, but the others look great. I still have 2 more windows to cover in the same room but the size has been out of stock for a long time, which is disappointing & makes me question whether I made the right choice.

So we had issues with the first two orders almost seemed like they were giving us returns. One was cracked the other one was stuck and wouldnt pull right and we were about to give up. We ordered for a third and final time and this one was the first to come with a plastic sleeve over it. Super easy to install took 5 minutes literally. The product itself is a great value for the price. This third one was easy to pull and easy to go back up. Overall very happy for the price and when we finally received a working product. The teason for 5 stars is value , ease of use, and overall look.
