Doll Parts Hardcover – April 18, 2017

I have to be honest, I didn’t know who Amanda Lepore was until the Sharon Needles song. Little by little I have been falling in love with her. I found this book and now it’s official, I adore Amanda Lepore.

I absolutely love this book. Amanda Lepore is brilliant in all ways. I wasn't expecting the book to have an actual story. I was expecting the book to be pictures and small essays about the photos. I love reading about her life and how she came to be Amanda. Her beauty was captured beautifully in all of the pictures. I have it placed on my side table now because it makes an awesome coffee table book.

I loved the book. I was a little scared ordering the paperback version, but it shipped safely and came in perfect condition.

Although much of what she says about her early life and transition is fantasy and not factual...it has great photos. Once she is well known the actual facts begin. She's great fun.

I always buy these books hoping to hear great stories and be inspired....only to end up reading beauty tips and bland lists of favorite whatever's....Amanda's book has beauty tips and lists....but OH SOOO MUCH MORE!! This is a true biography of one of the most fascinating personalities of the new York club scene and pop culture. Amanda's story is fascinating and full of heart. Also there's the juice...the winks and nods toward the lurid details we want to know. How amazing it was to live vicariously through such a desired being. My only disappointment was saying goodbye when I had finished the book. If you love fashion, style, celebrity, art, history, glamour...if your into music, the club scene, photography...if your trans, gay, bisexual, curious....or just like a hell of a book.....buy Doll Parts!!!

THIS HARDBACK "COFFEE TABLE" BOOK IS AMAZING! OMG! AFTER MEETING HER AND SEEING THAT SHE IS REAL THAN MOST PEOPLE ON THE EARTH, I HAD TO HAVE THIS BOOK! IT'S A BREAKTHROUGH IN LITERATURE AND POP CULTURE AND ART AND.........THIS BOOK IS FOR EVERYONE! EVERY SINGLE PERSON SHOULD GET THEIR HEAD OUT OF THEIR OWN &* AND BUT THIS BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART! IT'S ONLY $21.00!!!??? I LOVE THE LINING OF THE BOOK AND THE LAYOUT AND HER STORY IS LIKE NONE OTHER! IT WILL BE A MOVIE FOR SURE! I LOVE YOU AMANDA LEPORE! BECAUSE YOU LOVE YOURSELF AND YOU LOVE EVERYONE ELSE! THAT IS SO RARE TODAY! (I'll probably frame of these photos and then buy another copy of the book!)

I just wish the actual book was nicer.

I absolutely Adore this Bio of Mandy L. Its by no means a very deep or eloquently written piece of literature, its totally vapid, artificial and superficial just like Amanda and that's why I love it so Much. She makes no apologies for who she is and who she always dreamed to be. I was fortunate enough to meet her in person at RuPaul's DragCon in NYC and even got her to autograph my copy of Doll Parts. I highly recommend for anyone who's a fan of Amanda's or the Club Kids! Love Love Love

Fabulous book!! Very relatable upbringing. People should read Amanda Lepore's book because they will soon discover that despite her many surgeries, the peroxided hair, and the sexual public image, there is very much a lady behind the glamour.As a fellow trans woman, I was moved by her story, and her frankness. Amanda deserves credit for being a unique person with a genuine soul and an Icon of self-creation.

El libro llegó en perfectas condiciones. Es un libro muy bien hecho, con mucha atención en los detalles. Pesa bastante para su tamaño, lo lógico en libros de tapa dura y hecho en buenas calidades.

Quite simply stunning. Much more than a flip and forget book, this is an in depth autobiography from Lepore's beginnings to her domination of the world as a premier spokesperson for the transgendered - a window into a fascinating world. Beautiful, high quality pictures accompany well considered text - each 'chapter' given the title of a Monroe film - accessible, hysterical, tragic, informative - in short everything I wanted as an introduction to this goddess. I would have liked a little more information about some of the photographs - it would have been nice to have faces to go with the names - but this is a small criticism - not enough to detract rom a five star review. Highly recommended indeed!

fantastic book...every page is full of anedoctes of amanda,she is a fantastic writer,and she is very funny!!!loads of pictures in colour and b/w....a joy to read!!
