Itsa Battery. Works as intended. Laptop charges and works.

Let me start off by saying that I bought this as a replacement for my sibling's Toshiba computer battery. This is an initial impression of the product. First off, the battery came well packaged in aesthetically pleasing packaging shown in the listing's picture above. The box not damaged upon opening and is reusable. That's good if you like re-purposing good looking boxes or if you wanted to return it, the box is still there. Inside, the battery was well cushioned by 2 soft foams and encased in a plastic battery bag. On a sheet of paper, there are tips on battery care which is arguably necessary considering that these are replacement batteries so something may have happened to the computer's previous battery. I am quite happy that these exist in the current market. The battery is nearly unsupported and supply markup has made buying the official battery to be over $80. Buying these Toshiba batteries 'used' would still cost a pretty penny and you'll have to deal with shortened battery health from wear/tear of previous owners. Now, this battery is 4400 mah (≈3 hours) and for ten dollars more, I think you could choose to upgrade to the larger capacity version. Lastly, Toshiba had a recall in faulty batteries used in some of their laptops so you do run that extra risk of getting a defective unit even if you purchase an official battery. As long as these batteries continue to work long into the future, I couldn't recommend these enough.

This battery matches the dimensions of the OEM Toshiba battery and fit my laptop without problems. Packaging was above average with a well fitting box and anti-static air pack enclosing the battery. Charging and usage instructions are included and the battery arrived with 90% charge and on AC power, charged to full capacity in twenty minutes. On the charged battery, the laptop ran for two hours, downloading and installing software updates (non-SSD, with a reboot) and still had 50% capacity. After a second recharge, the battery lasted four hours in the laptop playing audio files. My only issue is that the black plastic doesn't match the silver of my laptop.

Good quality at a very good price

It was a replacement battery for the original. Works well. One suggestion though is to go into device manager on windows and uninstall the microsoft ACPI-compliant control under the battery tab. Only uninstall this. There can be more than one battery manager. Then shut down the machine and reboot. Go back to the battery tab and see if it reinstalled automatically. If not, then go to action and scan for hardware. This will stop the battery from showing "being available, but not charging." It should now read plugged in and charging, X% on the battery icon. Then, let the battery fully charge and run it down to about 15% and shut down. Plug in, reboot, and recharge. Do this for three times. This will set the chip in the battery and prevent premature burn out. Hope this helps.
