Citric Acid- How to make laundry detergent
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Citric Acid Powder - Fine Granular - 100% Pure Anhydrous - Pharmaceutical Grade Quality 1 Kilograms I like to make my own powdered laundry detergent, and this is one of the ingredients. I like to order all of the ingredients from Amazon, no running around trying to find them in the store. The recipe I use is all natural, allowing me to use green cleaning methods on my laundry. Here is the recipe I use.3 c washing soda2 c baking soda2 bars grated Castile soap1 c citric acid1/2 c Epsom Salt

Myriad household uses
Citric acid has so many household uses it's become a standing joke in our house. You can use it to clean off your ceramic top stove; soak gunk off pans; de-scale your tea and coffee pot; unclog slow-running toilets (in conjunction with baking soda), as the active ingredient in a homemade dishwashing rinse aid, and to add tang to foods like homemade sourdough.Citric acid is found in all living cells; it's a safe, cheap, and environmentally benign substitute for many commercial cleaning preparations.

Worked great. Warning
Used to flush scale from copper heat exchanger. Worked great. Warning, don't mess with this the night before boarding a commercial airline. I got pulled aside and they did the standard hand swab. The citric acid on my hands set off a chemical alert leading to them ask what lubricant I preferred. Okay, just kidding about the lube but it did lead to some heavy petting :).

Wonderful cleaning crystals
I continually purchase this product for the cleaning of my water distiller. City water leaves nasty sludges behind that build up on the bottom of the distiller. This citric acid power allows me to easily clean my stainless distiller quickly and efficiently. It never fails to do the job.

Good stuff
I bought this to make bath bombs. This is what makes them fizz, which is so fun to watch. So far every one has fizzed perfectly. So I can recommend this product, but it is based on minimal experience.
