A modern slim with room to move, the 511 slim fit stretch jeans are a classic since right now. These jeans sit below the waist with a slim fit from hip to ankle. This pair has just the right amount of stretch for all-day comfort. Cut close to the body, the 511 slim is a great alternative to the skinny jean-you'll get the same lean look with added comfort. The narrow leg also means endless style options. For a laid-back daytime look, try a slightly scrunched leg and sneakers. Once night rolls around, try a 2-Inch cuff with a chelsea boot.

i would still buy them
i am 70 years old and have been wearing 501s since i was 15, then they were £2/10s a pair shrink to fit. they were the best jeans in the world and very heavy wieght material lasted ages, now they are still good but no where near the quality they were, not a bad price for today i supose considering the rrp is about £80, but not the jeans they were. bring back the 60s ha ha.

Great fitting jeans especially if you are tired of mainstream high street tapered/slim fit jeans.
My first ever pair of 501's, always wore Wrangler as a youngster but now aged 55 I decided to try out some new jeans. Well the High Street outlets were awful with nobody stocking the type of fit and style that I loved in the 80's, all the jeans I tried on were slim fit and/or tapered leg, ok I am not a slim chap but some of them I could barely get my feet through never mind past my knees !Every shop I went into stocked the same style and fit of jeans, they all seemed to be very thin material too with a horrible leg fit not suitable for a man of my age.My son told me to try Amazon for a pair of 501's and bingo he was right. The style, the shape, the quality of material (very thick, unlike the high street brands I tried) and the size (waist 42 leg 32 - believe it or not I am not fat merely tall at 6ft 2inch) was perfect. These are genuine items, amazing quality and a very good mid/late 80,s style, not too loose not too slim fit, you know what I mean if you lived through those times. I have recently been watching some DVD's of both The Smiths, Tears For Fears and Simple Minds and their jeans must have been 501's , well that is what mine are like, stone washed, really thick material with button fly - sure, not the easiest of ways especially if in a rush to go to the loo but they will ease off in time. These are genuine Levi 501 jeans, bought directly from Amazon, not third party sellers ( please note these may also be genuine items but from looking at the various photos posted up of the "leather" rear patch, there is one big difference that shows them to be fakes). So buy in confidence from Amazon and wear a piece of history.

LOW QUALITY LIGHTWEIGHT DENIM
Poor quality, lightweight denim. A mere shadow of the beautiful heavy denim jeans that were virtually compulsory in my teenage years in the 1970s. Yet Levi's have the audacity to charge over £50 for such flimsy rubbish. They aren't even made in the USA any more! I feel cheated. Much better value are the Dickies WD1693 stonewashed work jeans that I bought six months ago from Amazon for a third of the price (£18.20). They are made of the heavy denim that Levis' used to made from and are excellent quality. I have worn them several times a week, washed them probably 25 times, and they are wearing in nicely, just like Levi's used to. I recommend you forget the rubbish churned out on Levi's behalf in Bangladesh and opt for Dickies instead.PS: Incidentally, I have no vested interest in either product: I bought both pairs with my own hard-earned. I have also recently bought a pair of Wranglers, also from Amazon, but have not yet worn them enough to assess for a review.

NOT GENUINE LEVIS!!!
These are NOT genuine Levis - the red tab on the back pocket does not have ' Levis ' printed on it. I bought these as a present and it was noticed straight away- waste of £57 of which I can ill afford!!!

the fit was good. But I could see a problem ahead with ...
Ordinarily I'm a wrangler man but my first pair of jeans were Levi 501's. I was 12 and I lived in those jeans. Anyway as time went by I swappedto Wrangler and for 48 years they've never let me down. So I thought I'd try a pair of Levis. Anyway, the fit was good. But I could see a problemahead with those studded flies, especially when your bursting. Call me pedantic but the red tab on the back pocket was just a red tab without theLevi motif. That was unacceptable. Plus they were made in Pakistan not the U.S. For £52 I expected more, so I returned them.As always, no problem with Amazon returns. I always feel safer buying from them direct.

Different fit to Levi's Jeans
Really nice! I normally wear Levi's 511/512 so decided to get these in their "slim" fit. Had to return the slims - be warned that "slim" in XX Chinos really means skin tight (I really mean they are painted on - great if that's what you want but not for me). Took a chance on the standard fit and I'm delighted..The "standard fit" fits almost exactly like a pair of 512's and looks really good - slim fitting but comfortable with a nice taper for a modern look. Sit nice on top of your trainers. I really don't think the pictures do them justice.I bought the olive colour which are a lot lighter in person. I'd recommend that you check out the Levi's website for an accurate photo.Gonna get myself a pair of the blue as the price is good for what you get.

Are these real?
Not sure about these. I've checked the various things online in order to assess provenance and everything seems genuine, though only some of the rivets are embossed on the back. But - essentially - they just seem too lightweight; don't look or feel like Levis. The denim just hasn't got the same feel as another pair I bought recently on the high street.

Good price, but see below...
Snapped these up at £34. But the question is, are these genuine 501’s.Definitely not the heavyweight levis of the 70’s (thinking my old ‘shrink to fits’) but then, I think, all levis came from the USA, whilst now they are made in Turkey or China, or elsewhere, presumably under licence. These appear to be of good quality, with inner labels aplenty, but one concern was the flap over the button fly seems to gape a bit, as if not machined flat (perhaps will flatten after ironing, after their first wash) though could be due to the more flimsy material, with the built in ‘stretch’. Those 70’s heavyweights definitely didn’t have an elastic stretch, but maybe even Levis jeans are allowed to evolve? Otherwise, the jeans fit me well, and are comfortable. Recommended, but with reservations about them being genuine. My old Levis didn’t have a gaping fly flap!
