Far better than I Anticipated
I was quite skeptical of these foam wedges at first, but left with no other option based on the bed our daughter is in, I ordered them. I am happy to report that we have had a month of incident free nights! Our daughter who is 21 months does roll around quite a bit, but has not rolled over them or even come close to my knowledge. I put the bumpers under the mattress pad as some had mentioned they move around when under the sheet and require adjusting. The tightness of the pad keeps them in place so even if our daughter rolls up against them during the night, they do not move. I don't love that it is two separate wedges as it is just more to mess with when I remake her bed, but I won't mark down for that as it may be ideal for some. I love that I can just sit right down on the bed with these v. a bed rail, which you either would not be able to sit or you would have to put it up and down each time you wanted/needed to sit down. Finally, I chose these over other foam wedges because they do NOT have the fire retardant chemical in them that others have- it is dangerous for children to breath in.

Good option if you can't use railings!
Railings wouldn't work with my daughter's bed and mattress. So I went on a search for other options. This came up and the price didn't seem too bad so I thought I'd give it a try. So far it has been working, and I've got a kid that tosses and turns and does circles in the bed when she's sleeping. These are a little bulky under the fitted sheets, but she has a pretty thick mattress, so I'm not surprised the fitted sheets don't fit perfectly with these under them. I do have to go in and readjust them every few days because she does have a tendency to work them closer to the edge of the bed. She also likes to use them as a pillow. Overall, I'm satisfied to have a barrier to keep her in bed, and the one time I took these off to see if she didn't need them, she took a tumble out of bed (and landed in a pile of pillows), so back under the sheets these went!

Nice alternative to guard rails
We use these for our toddler who sleeps on my mattress on the floor so far - since she's not in an actual bed yet, guard rails wouldn't work, but these work well. I also like that we can easily transport these and use them wherever we go (hotels, vacation house or grandma's). No chemical smell, which is a big plus for us, too. They do move a little bit, but I can't imagine them not since my toddler climbs over them to get in/out of bed and she rolls around all night - they don't move so much to be ineffective and are easily repositioned. I found they stay put better when the straight/vertical side is facing the inside of the bed vs the slanted side. Glad we found these.

Happy, Not 100% Satisfied
Overall, these have been working for us with our 2.5 year old son. We've been using them for about a month, now. However, he has fallen out of bed one time. We have also had a couple of close calls. I think the "problem" with these wedges is that there is no traction, etc. on the bottom to keep them from slipping around on the mattress. When pressure is applied to the wedges, when the child rolls into them or leans on them, they tend to shift under the sheet. I would probably buy them again, for the price I paid, but I do think you could accomplish the same thing with one of the giant pool noodles, as other users have suggested.

... the previous reviews on this item and had no great expectations when i received them
I read the previous reviews on this item and had no great expectations when i received them. All the previous reviews were correct on all the main points. They do yellow quickly, they are small, and for the most part they do the job....i just wish they were a little bit bigger and longer. I have a Sleep Number bed and there is quite a bit of space between the headboard and the frame. My cat likes to play with my glasses so i tuck them under my pillow and just enough to touch the edge of the foam so that he can't get to them and i can still find them in the morning. For that these do the job. For looks though i put my pillows on top to cover them because they yellowed very fast.

These are great!
I like these for two very simple reasons. 1. They don't smell or have harsh chemicals in them. 2. They are indestructible (if left under the sheets). We needed a bumper for the end of our 3 year olds bed because he kept falling out in the middle of the night. At first we tried the Shrunks inflatable bumper, which worked, until my son jumped on it and it sprung a leak. I tried fixing it with the included patch and it did not work at all. I threw it out. I tried this and am very happy! It has a rough texture so it stays put under his sheets at the end of the bed. He has a full size bed and the two 24" wedges fit perfectly. I hope this will be the last time we ever have to think about it again....I can't imagine how he could possibly ever break these!

I like them more than I thought I would.
Great for home and travel. We have one on the right side of our 3 year olds "big girl" bed. (We have a mesh bed rail on the other side). Using these foam bumpers on one side allows us to get in and out of bed for story time with our toddler without having to navigate the gaint mesh wall type rail on the other side . In hindsight, she would have probably been fine with just one of these foam bumpers on each side. We also take them when we go on road trips and need to stay in hotels with our toddler to keep her from rolling out lf the hotel bed.

This really works!
Our 2 1/2 year old daughter is in a big girl bed with a pillow top so bed rails did not come up high enough. These foam wedges work beautifully. They can be placed under her fitted mattress and stay put pretty well. (I recommend placing the slanted part of the wedges facing OUT so the child doesn't roll up the slant and go over the side in his/her sleep.) She hasn't fallen out of bed yet and she is a ROLLER. They are also free of those yucky ingredients that can cause health problems. No odor! I def recommend these!
