This chess board is really nice and is just the right size to play on. I prefer a larger chess set when I’m playing, and this one looks great .

This Chess set is GORGEOUS! This is the 21” set and it’s impressive! I’ve been wanting a nice sized chess set to not only play, but display as well and this one doesn’t disappoint. The wood chess pieces are beautiful and intricately carved with nice attention to detail. They are not weighted but because of the generous size they are substantial and feel like a good weight in the hand. They are all felted at the bottom and it’s well done. All the felt is centered and placed correctly. The board itself is a masterpiece! It’s also detailed to perfection and made extremely well, with an attractive, easy open and close mechanism. The hinges are covered to protect your table and although it’s not too heavy, it has a nice weight to it as well. My only wish is that they had included two extra queens of each color, but For this price, I feel like I won the chess lottery! I would highly recommend for play and display! AAA+++ all they way!

IMPORTANT NOTE:The queen piece, the one that has the circle of beads on top, fits inside the case upside down from what you would intuitively expect. Putting it in wrong and closing the board can cause the padding on the bottom of the queen piece to partially peel off.This happened to me but I fixed it with super glue. I have have also seen in other reviews the beads tend to have a tendency to break off if the queen is dropped on hard surface. So be careful with handling the Queen piece.PROS:The board is the most aesthetically pleasing classic style regulation chess board I've seen. Especially in this price range. Has great potential simply as a room decorations. Playing chess on this board is very enjoyable everything about playing on this board is seemless. The board / case and pieces are all very well made, intricate, real wood(no particle board), fairly durable tho would not recommend being rough with it. The board is very grand and big, I have largest 21in (55cm) variant.CONS:The board is very grand and big, requires alot of table space. Can be a pain to make room to setup the board. Can be cumbersome to transport, would not fit in most backpacks. Not ideal for use as portable board.Best use to avoid these drawbacks would be to leave the board setup as a decoration in a dedicated area for open use.Final con is the price, tho for boards of this quality it is a remarkably good deal, it is still alot of money to spend on a chess-board and set.

This is a nice board. I ordered the 21 inch, and wow. I wasn't thinking about how large a 21 inch board was relative to me just wanting the biggest one, but I love it. The chess pieces are high quality and are of considerable size. I think this would make a excellent gift of for personal use. It is just not of the traveling type.

Great quality for the money. We leave it out displayed when not playing and it looks great. But it's nice to be able to pack it in the case to take it traveling.

The pieces are big enough not to get lost on the board and very well made, my husband loves it.
