Gets really Cold, but No barrier needed
This was a great buy! It gets pretty cold when I tested on my skin (a non injured test). The temperature got really cold and lasted about 12+ mins. This is ideal for immediate injuries on the go. Also might feel colder if inflammation and swelling occurs. Also tried on my neck/shoulder area because I get a pinch nerve every now and then. This numbed it with the coolness.About me: I font like cold things on skin. Over react to cold palms on stomach or back, and never take cold showers even in hot 🔥 🌵 Arizona. So if you need extremely cold treatment stick to gel freeze packs.

Effective Cold Pack is a must for immediate and off-site first aid
I am a believer in this product as an avid daily cyclist that bikes 30-40 miles per day. I keep a few of them in my bike pannier in the event of an accident I come across and/or that I’m involved in. You can’t imagine how comforting it is to come across an biking accident and are able to help the injured feel better through the use of these cold packs. They are immediate - effective - and somewhat long lasting. They are also very good for bee sting relief.I also use them at home when something unexpectedly happens. They are not heavy and are quite easy to “actuate” once you get the hang of it. To that point - follow the directions and image on the front of each one. It works. I like the 5x9” size since it overs more area.

Does not last long but does its job.
While this is a great icepack -it doesn't last very long but gets the job done for about 10 minutes. Easy to use and sufficient value for the money.

Fantastic Single Use Ice Packs - Large size and wonderful for trips, first aid kits etc...
As a disabled registered nurse, my husband and I found a need for this product when traveling, first aid kits or if we don't have access to a refreezable ice pad. My husband also has several at work "just in case" and has used them on himself and employees if they are overheated in the summer Texas heat and humidity. Also, these packets work wonderful in the areas that a regular ice pack would not be pliable enough to fit into (such as when I had my hip replacements and needed ice packs on the hip joints near the groin. Also, these work really well to reduce my tailbone pain as they are a perfect size and easily can be used while I am in a wheelchair. If you look at the grocery store or drug store single use ice packs, first of all they will be significantly more expensive per pack, but the packs tend to be much smaller and do not last nearly as long as these ice packs do. We definitely keep these in stock and we would highly recommend them.

Secret to popping inner pack ..
I intermittently had trouble popping the inner bag ..Now I'm 100% ..- Turn bag upside down (not sure if this is necessary .. but that's how I've been doing it).- Move the inner bag to the top by gently working the inner bag to the top and shaking the main bag so the pellets above it fall to the bottom of the bag.- Once the inner bag is at the top and free of pellets wrap your thumb and index finger around the center of the inner bag and squeeze.- Should pop. If not try again .. I've never had it fail.

Temporary relief
I use these daily. I’m a professional driver and suffer from severe back pain. These are quick and easy to use and help me right away. They only stay cold for about 20 minutes or so but it does the trick for me.

Great for travel
I suffer from sciatica and the most helpful thing I've found is to sit with an icepack every morning and evening. Wasn't sure if all the hotels in our trip would have a freezer in the room, so I packed these in my checked bag and they worked like a champ. I had one leftover at the end of the trip, and without thinking, put it in my carryon. Tsa made me throw it away.
