An Elephant & Piggie Biggie! (An Elephant and Piggie Book) Hardcover – Picture Book, May 2, 2017

My five-year-old twins started school this past fall and we've been introduced to a number of new books that we hadn't heard before. I hadn't heard of Mo Willems before they went to school (Why? I don't know.) but now we have built quite a collection of his books. I saw this book in a bookstore about a month ago and figured it would be a great addition to our collection since we didn't have any of the books. I ended up ordering it from here since it was a much better price.An Elephant & Piggie Biggie! is a compilation of five stories written by wonderful and hilarious children's author, Mo Willems. The stories are funny, include lovable characters, and teach valuable lessons in a gentle way that kids really enjoy. The stories included in this book are : Today I Will Fly!, Watch Me Throw the Ball, Can I Play Too?, Let's Go for a Drive!, and I Really Like Slop! This is a hardcover book with the paperback pages and it's the same as the individual stories, just five times as big! There are 309 total pages and each story is roughly 57 pages. There are a lot of pages but each page generally has one or two sentences.My kids were so excited when this arrived in the mail! Elephant & Piggie are always popular in our house and my kids will stop what they are doing when I pull out these stories. I love the funny stories and drawings and I look forward to reading them to my kids. These are popular in classrooms because of the gentle lessons they teach and they hold active kids' attention! We are building our collection of these books and this book took care of several of them. It's a thicker book so it's harder to hold but I feel the value is worth it.This book would make a wonderful gift for boys and girls in the preschool to elementary age range primarily but I'm sure other kids would enjoy them as well. I highly recommend stories by Mo Willems and this book is a wonderful addition to our collection!

This book is perfect for toddlers. It has cute , colorful illustrations and is easy to read. Text size is good. My 4 year old loves these stories. Being 5 books in 1 makes it great value for money. Good quality paper too. Highly recommend if you have toddlers.

Elephant and Piggie are favorites with toddlers everywhere for their witty repartee. Don't be fooled. Toddlers do have a sense of humor and they appreciate stories that aren't dumbed down to what grown ups think they want. Plus their grown ups won't be as tired of the stories after the 50th reading as they are with many other stories. While some think the 2+ pound weight of the 316 sturdy pages needed for these 5 books in one is too much for a toddler, my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter had no problem grabbing the book and bringing it to me to be read. She liked having a big, substantial book like the one's Mommy has. At under $10, there is no reason not to share the fun of Elephant and Piggie with the toddlers in your life.

I love the Elephant and Piggie books! I was pleasantly surprised to find out they had volumes like this, saving tons of money on the books!I got all 5 volumes in preparation for my baby being born and I look forward to her enjoying the books as much as I have.My wild bunch of nieces and nephews came over to meet my newborn and were far more interested in sitting and reading these books together. So it seems they're a crowd pleaser!

Our 5 year old granddaughter loves these books. The stories are not too long, and she is able to slowly read them to us. We have gotten her the whole set.

My daughter absolutely loves these books. Whenever we can get our hands on them, we buy them. They shipped and delivered very fast, and we had no issues.

It's not wordy, but the few words and the illustrations convey so much humor and feeling involving two personalized characters, Elephant and Piggy. Their expressions and body language are priceless.I bought it because I'm writing picture books. I'll read it to a three-year-old, but adults would love it too.

If you've already enjoy Elephant and Piggie and you're on the fence about this one in particular, hop off immediately and buy the book. Even if you have one or two of the stories, this format is great since it's compact and it's cheaper than buying the books separately.If you haven't read Elephant and Piggie, you're in for a treat. Mo Willems is an amazing author and illustrator. My 6 year old loves these stories, and he WANTS to read them all the way through, unlike most other books. He usually reads Piggie and I read Gerald. The books are great for teaching how to read with emphasis (words in uppercase or italics) and emotion. The illustrations are a lot of fun and Mo Willems is a master of illustrating emotions on the characters. I have just as much fun reading the books as my son does, and that rubs off on him.I bought all 3 of the "Biggie" books. So far we've read all of 1 and 2. IMO there are 1 or 2 that are better than the rest in each book, but all of them are entertaining. The Biggie books also have fun intros to each story, which we have a good time with. I could go on but you have better things to do, like buy and read this book.
