(1 pasta instead of 6?) My Favorite Pasta - Glad They're Back in Stock. Keto Almost?
*EDIT*This pasta is currently being shipped incorrectly. I made 4 orders and received 4 packs instead of 24 packs. Pending my rating until this issue is resolved, and to garner attention. I believe it's an issue with how Amazon is packing it for some reason. Contact support and they will assist you. I just want to receive the right quantity and not have to play around with the chat support. I'll take a video before I open the package next time, too.I ordered these pastas in the past off the other listing.Rather than copy-pasting my review, I'll provide some new insights.PRO TIP:Cook this stuff for 15-17 minutes or so and it will become nice and large and springy. You will not be disappointed. Check the pic of my Pasta Salad.I'm a believer in protein as part of a filling diet. For me, other pastas just don't cut it. I've been trying the whole grain pastas, chick pea pasta, and lentil pastas, with the chick pea being the slight winner there. The thing is that the Carba-nada pasta just has like DOUBLE the protein per serving, with more fiber and so less net carbs for a similar calorie count.I do find that this pasta just keeps me full longer than eating a bowl of whole grain pasta with the same type of sauce. I find myself getting hungry within an hour or two when doing the whole grain pasta. I'm a hungry guy, so I stand by the protein stacking idea.Price-wise, I think is just a tad high for the ingredients used, and I'd love for it to be even more affordable for others to enjoy, but overall it's been great for me. I have no issues with gluten intolerance, and this makes the pasta itself so much more versatile for getting in my protein. I use it with lower calorie mayo (Hellman's is what I've been trying) and it's been pretty good. When you can pair this pasta up with a lite tomato sauce and a few meatballs and vegetables, and get a nice bowl of it for 350-450 calories, and not be left starving in two hours, it's pretty good. When it goes up to $5-6 per bag I might have to use it more sparingly, and if it ever went below $3/bag I'd probably be making this stuff weekly instead of more bi-weekly, because it's really an efficient food item to stock in the household.Nutrition-wise:90g protein and 48g of fiber for 1020 calories of pasta in the bag puts this on the same level as one of my favorite foods, Brown Lentils, which will have around 79g protein and 70g fiber. I cook for my family, and we're trying to keep things healthy, so this works better than throwing beans and lentils and chicken breasts into everything. And you seriously get a lot of pasta yielded when you cook for the 15-17 minute time I mentioned.Since the price has come down, you know I stocked up and ordered another 6 of these. Not sure what the deal is with the Amazon listing changes, but I hope all is well and the Carba-nada family is here to stay. And for the Keto people: Sorry that this isn't the most keto friendly, and while the name sounds like the perfect pun for a keto friendly pasta, it has some carbs.HOWEVER, if you cook it per my instructions, I find that I get more something like 8 measured cups of pasta cooked, and 1 cup pasta was something in the 120ish calorie range when I calculated it some months back, so you're potentially able to eat some and get 12 net carbs instead of the 17 per serving. It will depend on your other daily foods, but you may be able to enjoy this as a well-portioned treat.Hope you check out this pasta because it's been a game changer.
