I used this during a cruise vacation to Panama. It did see that it began to change to the lowest level pink while I was using it. I never had the opportunity to see what would happen if I just laid out in the sun. It didn't do anything unexpected like immediately turning purple upon exposure to direct sunlight. I could tell it was working by directly shining a UV light on it. It does get lighter when out of the sun, so I think it is a good indicator of overall exposure. I took it to the hottub with me and seems perfectly waterproof and makes for an interesting conversation piece.

Doesn’t work! Color never changed from shade to sun all-day. We got fried!!

For the price these are helpful but they only last about a week before the photosensitive material becomes inert and doesn’t respond to UV anymore. I didn’t see anything in the description saying these are disposable; seems kind of wasteful.

This is definitely a great product to have. I wish the color change was a little more noticeable, as well as size could go smaller.
