Hooked Up Paperback – September 5, 2016

Okay so I have read books 1-3 own them all. I was like what the hell did I get myself into when I first started reading book 1. I could not put these books down as I wanted more. Pearl and Alexandre made we want to be their friends. This story line has everything that you could image in any book series. If I had it my way we should have around 3 more book and I would have been happy. The love that came out of this made me wonder if this kind of love story could really be true.. Could not look, lust and love after the one they are with unconditionally. It made you believe in the impossible. The sexy and love making in this series was off the hook good. This was dangerous, suspenseful, crazy, loving, fun, funny, heartbreaking and full of wonderful all in one. Thank you for this read. I give these books a 5 STAR because once I started reading I could not put it down. I cried a lot while reading these books. I felt like I had made some new friends overall and the way it opened me up on the inside which is hard to do it that reason for the high stars. I loved the Pearl series but this puts an entirely new spin on it. Alexandre is so in love with Pearl and now she realizes she made a big mistake listening to someone else. But I am glad that she was able to see the truth and made her soul happy again with her one true love. This book should have come with a warning that read, "Previously released as (Shades Of Pearl, The Pearl Series, Volume 1)".I was about 3 pages in when I realized that I had previously read this book. What is upsetting is that this is the exact bookas the first one, word for word.I couldn't stand the different POV's because they were exactly the same which made them unnecessary.I did like the chemistry between Pearl and Alexandre. It felt real and believable. I loved Pearl's character, whichis why I read 3 of the 5 books in the Series.40 year old Pearl Robinson just wants and interview with the owners of the social media site HookedUp,25 year old Alexandre Chevalier and his sister Sophie Dumas. After a chance meeting with Alexandre ata coffee shop, Pearl gets more than she bargains for from the very handsome, very mature 25 year old.Unfortunately for Pearl, outside forces are looking to keep the two of them from being more than just afling.Great series that have been taken from 5 books to 3.

I enjoyed the story, but not enough to want to pursue getting the rest of the books in the series. It was a quick read. It was sometimes difficult to follow the nuances of the story e.g., what the character said happened In their childhood and what really happened. Also, it was annoying where they hyphenated words. That could have been my Kindle settings.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I just finished reading this book in one sitting. I can honestly say I loved it. The characters are richly drawn and so fun to read. I really enjoyed having the book told from both perspectives. Pearl is so relatable and funny. She made me laugh out loud several times. Alexandre is a great book boyfriend, chock full of secrets and just cocky enough to still be hot. I am so excited for the next installment. Read it, you will love it. I liked it so much I bought a copy even though I have one for free.

Hooked Up is supposed to be book one in a series. Books in series are usually standalone books and don't end in a cliffhanger. This book is not standalone and it ends in a cliffhanger.It's told from a dual POV - Pearl's and Alexandre's. This is not a well written dual POV. Pearl is a 40 something year old who meets 25 year old billionaire Alexandre, accidentally on purpose. Pearl is a immature, insecure woman for her age and we aren't told why. From the moment she meets Alexandre, she's deceitful about who she is when she has no reason to be. Alexandre is immediately attracted to her. He first thinks it's lust as usual. He determines very shortly that's it's more than lust. Even though Pearl isn't open and honest with Alexandre, she's extremely jealous.The book goes from Pearl thoughts to Alexandre's thoughts. Pearl becomes more and more dislikeable while Alexandre grows on you as he tries to put his sexual affairs in order because he acknowledges his feelings for Pearl. Pearl is is more and more insecure and dishonest with no intention of telling Alexandre the truth.Of course , Alexandre's older sister and business manager, Sophie, investigates Pearl and finds out how deceitful she is. The book ends abruptly on a cliffhanger. I had read reviews that stated the book ended in a cliffhanger. I've read series where reviewers said the book ended in a cliffhanger, when in fact it did not. This book does.Still since I'm intrigued by Alexandre, I bought the next book. If this book ends as abruptly, I may notcare enough to purchase the last book.

This book was,interesting . The,way the couple met and the sex wow Alexandre really knows how to satisfy Pearl . However I didn't really like the ending . Also the age difference I don't know if they will last ,but I need to read book.2 other than that great book.

Pearl and Alexandre hmmmm where to start. I really loved this from start to finish and can't wait to read the second book to see what happens. The boom is written in duel perspective and that is what makes it even better as you really get to know both characters very well. Pear? Is a 40 year old divorcee who is shall we say lacking experience in the big O. Alexandre is 25 and a very savvy French business man. In don't want to go into the story as I could rave on about all sorts and spoil it and that's not what I want to do. The end in of this book made me gasp in shock as I was really not expecting the cliffhanger but the great thing is book 2 is already out so let's get reading.

Amazing characterization with each character's shades of grey. The story is well-paced, and the backdrop descriptions such as that of the Hookedup company, Pearl's past, Alex's rather adventurous life, etc. supplement the story well and add intrigue. The steamy scenes are of course the highlight of the story - very hot, and without being raunchy.

The book was quick and kept me interested .. sad that I have to find the next book to find out more
