Great adapter for half the price!
I am not familiar with the autofocus performance of the Canon RF-EF adapter with the control ring, but this adapter is perfectly fast and has performed very well every time I have used it. The lens I use the adapter with is the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 IS USM and it works perfectly. I am also a huge fan of the control ring. I would recommend this adapter to anyone who is on a budget and uses the control ring. It adapts well to my Canon EOS R and is half the price of the Canon control ring adapter.

Works just like Canon adapter at 1/3 the price.
For the price can't complain at all. Works with all my EF-S lenses. Only negative is trying to update firmware is hard with the language barrier. The included firmware works with my current collection of lenses so I should be ok. I planned on buying this as a short term thing to use until I bought the Canon model at a later time. This is nice enough that I might just a second Meike adapter as a backup and save the money.

A nice alternative to the Canon brand
This isn't the best-made adapter, but it works well and comes with the addition of a ring to enable different features on the camera (aperture, focus). And I haven't had any issues with it not communicating with my Canon EOS lenses and the the Canon R camera. Plus, the price is very attractive.

Make sure to UPDATE FIRMWARE
When I first received it, it was doing something funny to the autofocus and aperture of my lenses on the R6. However, after updating the firmware on the adapter, everything works well. TIP: When updating firmware on Windows, the menu during software install will give you 2 language options: English and some other language that Windows could not read and gave me random characters. When selecting English, the installer gave me gibberish characters. All you have to do is press next/continue and once done installing, the software will be installed in English. As to the build quality, the control ring adapter fits snugly and has a nice finish to it.

3rd Party RD Adapter with COntrol Ring
I got myself Canon R6 but still have lots of EF lenses in my arsenal. I mainly do Birding and Aviation photograpphy .. mouonted the Tamron 150x600mm G2 lens and it so far perform perfectly no issue there .. all functionalti works ... as good as the Canon RF to EF adapter but this one added the control ring. I have the control ring set to the default exposure compensation. also tried on tghe CAnon 70-200 F2.8 IS with 2x extender iii seems working oK~ .. make and fit of the adapter is very good and u can see the detail of the adapter is well made even have weather seal...overall quite happy +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ UPdate on the Adapter... I use it for almost a month and have the following update!< ... again this unit have the latest firmware update as of 7/2022. and if I leave my R6 turn off and with the adapter and my lens mounted !it drains the battery out after a day or two! .... I use the CAnon RF ADapter ... do the same thing but the battery did not drain! so! it is the adapter than the body! anyway! just to make aware for other users!....wonder if others have this problems??

Works perfectly with my R7 and EF/EF-S lenses
This adapter is great. It does everything I need it to do at a fraction of the cost of the Canon version. Attaches smoothly to the body, and lenses attach smoothly to it as well. Isn't very large and doesn't add an unreasonable amount of bulk by any means. I have to get used to where to reach when I'm looking to use the ring vs. zoom but that would certainly be the case with the Canon version as well. The camera doesn't throw any warnings etc. or differentiate it in any way from the Canon version. It just works. Very glad I found this affordable alternative so I can keep using my old lenses with my new camera.

UPDATE: Caused my camera bodies to detach and fall to pavement twice!
UPDATE (2023) - The screws holding the RF mount side have come loose twice and so much so that my camera detached and fell to pavement. Thank goodness I have a cage on my R7. I tightened all of the screws and a month or so later the same thing happened and again smash onto concrete. I ended up putting loc-tight on the screws and haven't had them come loose again. HOWEVER, I also bought a different brand of adapter that I have been using instead. Even with the loc-tight and screws all the way in, the mount jiggles. It's that jiggle that you become use to...which ends up making the screws loosen. I also fear that it's messing up my camera mount. While it's a deal, I will not purchase another adapter from Meike (I already have the one with drop in filter - SUFFERS SAME PROBLEM BTW). I am seriously lucky that my R7 and R5 have cages and survived the drops. Gotta say I'm pretty furious regardless... One star is too much.... ORIGINAL: As you'll read elsewhere, there is a firmware upgrade to fix the battery drain. The control ring is rather easy to turn. Depending on what you have it assigned to, it can be problematic. I use it for exposure compensation and regularly accidentally change it. Constantly having to check that it’s set correctly. Still useful, but just wanted to point that out. I wish it had much more resistance. Also, the biggest issue for me after a couple of months. The fit/interconnect with my EF L glass is rather loose and it often results in an error 00. Basically, the camera loses connection with the lens. A jiggle will fix it, but I’m not too trusting as I have already missed a lot of shots as it randomly happens. I would have sent it back if I would have used it more in my first 30 days.

I have a Canon RP- the main dial is faulty, I use Av mode mostly, and this adaptor restores the physical function without needing a repair. (you could also use the touch screen of course). It worked directly without having to assign the function in the camera menu. My proviso is that I saw one YouTuber comment that eye tracking was not supported, which might be an issue if you take lots of portraits. The RP only has face tracking, but this works ok, I tested it, and other focus modes and functions are supported. The good news is that there is a usb c firmware socket included, so I imagine this issue could be solved in a future firmware update. Another nice touch is the bright red weather sealing gasket, and it is less than half the price of the Canon equivalent adaptor. UPDATE!!! My apologies! I did not have eye detection enabled on my RP- I have retested and it seems to work fine. An older adaptor without the firmware update may be a problem, solution as above- just something to bear in mind...
