Very good quality cooling vest
For the price this vest is worth the investment. The included 18 do it yourself ice packs are of good quality. No thin plastics to rip or puncture easily so leaking should not be an issue. If you never had prepared an ice pack before it can be tricky but if you hold the ice pack opening up around the water faucet head and run the water at a slow speed and at the same time use your fingers to rub the pack so air can get to the bottom then it should fill up rather easy with the best results. The vest is adjustable to many chest sizes and easy to adjust using the four elastic velcro straps. The vest itself is heavy but not to heavy with and without ice packs. The vest is made with material that feels durable in my opinion. The design is nice to wear and functional. Included with everything mentioned was a nicely designed little lunch bag lined with insulation which can come in handy. I have tried this vest out and my results are that this vest will keep you cool for about 3 hours which is great but this will be different for everyone depending on their place of use. I used this vest to keep me cool while gaming on a pc in a hot room in texas with the window open and a box fan blowing outwards. This vest did the job well and with the extra ice pack bags in the freezer means I can stay cool for a very long time. I would recommend this product for purchase!

So far, decent value
Developed a weird issue where when I start sweating during workouts causes my back to itch (thermally-induced pruritus). I use a spray bottle of ice water to wet my gym t-shirt, put this on over it, and continuing spraying "underneath" the vest as needed. So far, good control of itch. Also, works fine with my sit-on-top kayak in warmer weather. I wear the vest with the front packs and top back packs. The latter remain above the kayak's backrest, and none of them interfere with arm motions needed for the kayak paddle. (Don't want to chance rupturing the bottom back ice packs against the backrest.)Fit for me is fine, man 5'10", ~180lb. Might not work for large men, but I have plenty of "leftover" room on the Velcro portions, so would think it should fit taller, somewhat bigger folks fine. The seam for one of the ice-pack holders started separating, used some fabric glue, and it seems to be holding. Raises the issue of durability.Have on in gym for an hour, off for about an hour stretching (don't want to lie down with it on and risk rupturing ice packs), then on for another hour rowing. By the end of that, about 4 hours (1 hr of which is outside in direct sun and heat) have passed including travel time. The 4 ice packs in use are all melted but still cool. Plenty of packs are supplied; I filled 6 (enough for a full vest), keeping the rest in reserve for now. If you are going to be out longer, could keep 6 in the vest, 6 on reserve ....At this price point, it is hard to go too wrong.I wonder if the company has experimented with a reflective outer finish that would further reflect heat. The other bonus they could consider is including some fabric glue so once the shoulder straps are adjusted, the entire shoulder assembly can be glued together, assisting in easier transport.Filling the 6 packs, I did get a little air into the bags, and could not figure out how to get it out without potentially damaging the bags. Maybe in others' comments (which I will read after submitting this) someone has a method.

Soak the ice pads in water then put in freezer
I bought this for my mom. She is stubborn and wants to use a push mower in the worst time and during the hottest days of the summer. It comes with plenty of ice gel packs. You have to soak the ice pads in water first then you put those in the freezer. Yeah the ice pads are cheapo chineseum junk but the pockets of the vest are big enough. You could get better gel packs at a big box store

Life Saver
Living in Oklahoma during the summer is the equivalent of living in Baghdad temperature wise. For another year we have had real feel temps exceeding 115+! After running a lawn business for 15 years and doing lawns for over 35 years, I kick myself for not making this purchase sooner! The ice packs last for at least four hours in the extreme heat and we keep extras in an ice cooler covered with ice for the change out. This will last the rest of the day. The cooling vest keeps core temperatures down to a bearable degree and the ice actually helps my back pains. Have recommended this item to several friends in construction and other trades and they are so thankful I brought this to their attention. The only issue is they wear out within a few months with the Velcro closures breaking loose. They’re cheap enough to purchase wash season though if you experience this issue. If you've been kicking around the idea just do it! You won't regret it at all.

Excellent basic cooling vest
I bought this vest to try to stay a bit cooler in the New Orleans heat while taking my 1.5 mile daily walks and for my 2-3 hour grass cutting chore once a week. The vest comes with six pockets for ice packs, two in the front and four in the back. The ice gel packs that come with the vest come dehydrated, and you have to add water to them to form the gel. The instructions say to add way more water than I thought was correct. When I added the amount as instructed the ice packs became big and round, and though they lasted for the full three hours of my lawn, they were VERY bulky and uncomfortable to wear.I found that if I fill them about half-way, they froze in a flat easy-to-wear shape that lasts about an hour and a half in the heat. I also discovered that if you buy the ice packs in the link below, you'll get an easier to wear product that keeps you very cool for about 45 minutes.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09LP7667N?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsThis vest is a good jumping-off point for a cool vest. You can replace the ice packs with whatever you want, and get different performance characteristics. No reason to feel tied to the gel packs that come with the vest, even though the stock gel packs work pretty well.
