Coyote Landscape Products 5 Piece Steel Home Kit Edging with 15 Colored Stakes, 4" by 8', 16-Gauge, Green

I recently bordered a slightly curved section of my garden in between an area of small river rocks and the grass lawn. I have never installed a border like this before because I dislike the look of the plastic borders that landscapers often use. They end up chipping and looking terrible with time. However, I really wanted something between the rocks and yard so that I would not constantly be pulling weeds from the rocks. I am happy with how this looks. I installed the metal strips so that the tops are nearly flush with the yard so they can be mowed over and are not very visible. The steel is substantial, so it should last a long time. Be aware that unless you have lovely, soft, soil everywhere, this IS NOT something you can just bang into the ground. You will need to dig a trench to put the border into first. I live in New Hampshire, and we are not called the granite state for nothing -- about every three inches I came upon a substantial rock that was in the path of my border. Overall, I think it was worth the effort. I think this sturdy steel border will maintain a neat edge for a long time, meaning less work in the long run.

Loved the product and intend to buy more but my two orders came with different heights and made it hard to match up. I looked at offering on Amazon description could tell why. Be sure to confirm height if you are placing separate orders.

This has adequate metal thickness to maintain a nice edge. But it is an expensive option for several reasons: The length of each piece is described as 8 feet, but it is really 95.5 inches. When you join them end-to-end there is an 8 inch overlap/underlap, so the true "running length" i.e. the length of one piece of edging that is visible above ground when installed, is 87.5 inches (7.3 feet). The total length of one package of 5 pieces is described as 40 feet, but If you install all 5 pieces end-to-end the running length is 36.5 feet. So when deciding if this is what you want to go with, factor this true length into your total cost and material needs calculations. Other deficiencies that an expensive product like this should not have are: 1. It is difficult to maintain alignment at the interconnections during installation. 2. The finish is painted, which is not nearly as durable as a powder coat finish. 3. The height is described as 4 inches, but it really is only 3.6" tall, so here again you are getting less material than described.

I live in Southern Arizona, the land of gravel front yards. For 15 years I have had to sweep the gravel from the sidewalk back into the yard...grrr. So I purchased these from Amazon and installed. I pulled the gravel back about 3 feet, dug a trench at the edge of the sidewalk, install the edging to where about an inch and a half is exposed above the sidewalk. backfilled the dirt and replaced the gravel. Clean line looks fantastic and THE ROCK NO LONGER GRAVITATE ONTO THE SIDEWALK. I really like that the edging has a rolled top so in the unfortunate event a child fall onto them, they will not get cut. I did leave the area where the larger river rocks (used for draining the yard) un-edged for drainage, but those do not ever move. Love this edging.

I wanted a solid edging that I could bend and place where needed. I was able to bend with hands and boards to fit the curved area I was edging. The 8 foot pieces were easy to handle and kept there structurally integrity when placed. This is a good product. As with all edging (steel or plastic) it takes patience to prepare the area, align, level and backfill. So be prepared to take your time. Excellent product

I needed something to border a straight walking path from a flower bed. This product arrived with the box ripped, torn and open. The only thing that kept it together was about 10 yards of plastic wrap. The contents onside were marred, bent and twisted. It was pretty obvious that this product had been sitting around for a while. I decided to install it anyway since returning it would have required me to find an 8' box and take it to a UPS Store. I was able to semi-straighten them out, but installation took about 3 times longer that it should have. Also, the stake pockets were sharp and had to be opened up with a screwdriver in order for the stakes to fit. I ordered 1 box knowing that I would need 3. My quandary is now that I have to decide if the quality of this shipment was a fluke or if I need to order the other 2 boxes from a different supplier. Because of the quality of the product that I received from Coyote, I can only give it 1 star.

Very easy to use, this is a steel product but easy to work with when making slight bend radius when installing, steel stakes provided makes certain that it stays in place.. very happy with end results.

Excellent boarder for landscaping on a slope. I would and will buy more in the spring.
