Dangerous fault in item
Thought this was a fabulous item and five month old loved it. However a week after purchase I was sitting watching her gum her you and noticed the head was almost snapped off. Luckily I caught it in time or could have been very serious

Great teether but...
I bought the pink monkey teether for my 5 month old daughter. She loves it, can hold it really easily and the bright colour keeps her interested in it. BUT... the teether I have; the little bumpy bits on the back of the monkey's head, have started coming away when she chews on it. I don't think this is meant to happen and she's clearly swallowing them. I'm going to contact to manufacturer and see what they say but I'm really disappointed as I love it and it's not a cheap teether, so didn't expect it to 'fall apart'.

Good size teething toy for baby to hold
Great teething toy. My baby was premature and low birth weight (born 4 weeks early weighing 4lb 7oz) and other teething toys I'd tried with him were too big to fit comfortably in his mouth for him to chew. He's now 4 months old and the matchstick monkey is the perfect size for him. The monkey's arm parts make it easy for him to hold himself - other toys were too big and chunky and he would keep dropping them. My baby seems to really like his matchstick monkey. It's a bonus that it's also a cute toy, and a nice bright colour (although as you can see in the photos I've added, it's not the bright shade of green pictured in the listing, but the shade of green shown in the image in the item description further down the page). The material is also ideal - firm enough to provide relief to sore gums, but soft enough to be comfortable. It's convenient that it's dishwasher safe as it's easy to clean.I've had this in my basket on Amazon for a while but hadn't gone ahead with the purchase because close to £10 seemed very expensive for a teething toy, but I'm glad that I bought it in the end.It would be useful if it came with some kind of pouch or case to keep it clean between uses rather than just throwing it into the changing bag. I take Tommee Tippee teat and soother wipes in the changing bag so that I can give it a quick clean.UPDATE: my baby will be 8 months old next week and his Matchstick Monkey is still one of his favourite things - he uses it daily and we take it everywhere we go. Great purchase.

The best teething toy hands down! We tried loads and spent fortune on teething toys
We have tried loads of toys and remedies for teething and general chewing and Matchstick Monkey is hands down my daughter's favourite. It is the only toy (teething and non-teething) she doesn't get bored from. It's small and light, lots of loops and different surfaces so baby can have a really good chewing already from small age. She started using it properly from four months of age. We also tried the mitten types at that stage and I could see that the monkey actually was easier to grab. She also got bored from the mittens, rings, keys etc very quickly.I can see that my little one is chewing on different parts of the monkey but she really likes the head as it has lots of buds. I also do pretend talk to her with the monkey and she looks at the monkey's face and giggles a lot.I also like the loops from practical point of view. I use them to tie the monkey to pram or baby carrier (I've got special plastic baby rings which have openings on one side, so I can form a chain and attach things). The monkey is easy to wash as there is no cloth or anything which takes ages to dry.The only drawback I can report is that the toy doesn't have neither a case or pouch to transport it into. It comes out of my bags a bit dirty, so I always need either use something as a case or need to be rinsing/washing it.

Good teething toy
I have 3 children and been through alot of teething toys. I bought this for my 13 week old baby and have to say its the best teething toy I've tried. It's made out of a soft flexible rubber material and a good size for baby to hold. My baby does need help to grab it as so young but can easily keep a grip of it and pull it to his mouth. It has a 'toothbrush' type head which my baby does like to chew and also its tail is quite popular! We used to have the leading giraffe which seemed to collect bits if fluff and was impossible to clean with wipes and generally looked unclean personally but this looks clean and is easily washed and wiped. Would recommend as my baby's favourite.
