Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Vol. 3

A volume of competition and relationship issues
The third volume of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid focuses on relationships and competition. Miss Kobayashi and Tohru spar over who can make the best box lunch. There is a new dragon in town and Tohru gets very upset and sometimes even violent when the other dragon gets too friendly with Miss Kobayashi. For her part, Miss Kobayashi realizes she is one introvert who has to learn how to make a relationship work. We are given a tale from Tohru's past and learn what might have led her to become a maid. Kanna has a new friend named Saikawa. The girls have to fight some big kids for the rights to a playground and in their second story, we see they envision themselves as possibly more than just friends. Tohru's friend Lucoa finds herself accidentally summoned by a boy sorcerer's spell and while she seems to mean well, I don't think she grasps the concept of age appropriate activity. I found it funny but I could also understand if other readers were unsettled. Still, overall, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid continues to be a good strong comedy series.

This manga is growing on me.
I'm starting to enjoy this more. A lot of stories start off slow, for several reasons - the author hadn't found their muse yet, the title was originally a one-shot or mini-series, or just because. Regardless, it's always a good idea to check out the 2nd volume of a manga that you weren't particularly impressed with. It often times takes the author time to get up to steam, & fully set the templates for the story & characters. Art, rough yet good. Dialogue, kind of silly, but good. Characters, likeable, & some adorable.

Excellent Content but Someone Dropped the Ball on the Kindle Version
This is one of my favorite currently running manga series and I opened it up to read it again on my Fire, but the progression is all weird. I double checked the rest of the series and volume three seems to be the only one that’s backwards. It’s been some time since I last read it so I don’t know if it downloaded to my new kindle wrong or if someone dropped the ball. It’s readable but if you’re expecting to read it like a normal manga, you’ll have to adjust your thinking. Layout is fine but the progression moves from left to right and not the normal right to left. Otherwise a five star book.

Continues to shine!
This series continues to shine! It's interesting reading the manga as it's different than what the anime show offers. There's more happening here and things happen in a different order with different characters. Highly recommend this series, especially if you like stories about chosen family.

Expressing and Questioning
This book knows how to reel and hook you in. I can't get enough of Miss. Kobayashi's Dragon Maid! The characters are hilarious in their own special way. Just one question, how many manga's are in this series? I tried to see about the fifth but it won't come out until November 14. Why???
