s with you so they have a better understanding of what you are going through
People are in need of educating themselves on dizziness/Vertigo, and this is one way I found to be helpful not only for myself but for family members, and to take notes, and take them to Dr. appt.s with you so they have a better understanding of what you are going through, that it isn't just "dizziness" there are other symptoms that go along with it, and they sometimes can't find the source of the problem so they just check it off to an ear infection, or sinus infection, or a virus........which leaves a person still wondering what is wrong with them. I could argue with some of the things in here, but each to their own. Anxiety IS A HUGE PART IN VERTIGO, and should never be told to MEDITATE, OR RELAX........that is very frustrating to a person who can't control the Vertigo that effects them every day of their life. And of all the years of testing and people complaining about it, I would think we would have more answers and more treatments, but llike mental illness, a lot of this IS thought to be "in our heads" and it is not. Dr.'s need more education on it too.........it's a very frustrating condition, and one that is "hidden" and hard to find a diagnoses.

A great reference with info that you won't find in alot of other books!
I found this to be really comprehensive and covering areas that other books don't. When suffering from vestibular issues, it's pretty much a hunt to find your own information in order to be diagnosed by doctors. This is a pretty good book for a variety of issues.

Excellent presentation of specific symptoms and red signs for various conditions
This book presents all different conditions that cause dizziness together with specific symptoms (those more likely to be unique to the condition) as well as red signs (things that indicate something more serious than the condition is at work).Personally, I believe my PCP's diagnosis is correct, but I did not have 99.9% confidence bec dizziness isn't his area of specialty. Cross referencing the description in this book, because of it's very goal oriented presentation, provided the added confidence.

FANTASTIC BOOK!
A fantastic book summarizing the many reasons behind dizziness. Easy to understand with suggestions on how to cope with dizzy spells. I highly recommend this book to anyone trying to figure out the mystery behind their dizziness. Thank you, Doctors, for sharing your knowledge to help those of us living with dizziness.

I was happily surprised how mistaken I was
When I first approached this book I was prepared to be overwhelmed with medical terms and not accessible reading for someone that is not in the medical field. I was happily surprised how mistaken I was: this is accessible reading material. I would recommend this book not only to doctors but, more importantly, to individuals that suffer from dizziness: to get a better understanding of their condition and what they can do to improve their lives.

A clear and understandable book for patients............
This book deserves 5 stars but I gave 4 because I only needed the information in one chapter. The book is written clearly and is understandable to the lay patient. Identifying symptoms and patterns is helpful in dealing with my intermittent dizziness and also for me to communicate to my physician.Thank you for so skillfully writing this book. Without question, the authors are knowledgeable and thoughtful physicians.Arlene Cohen, 68 years
