Amazingly compact and easy to use.
Received 2 of these just a few minutes ago. I am very impressed with these stands. Assembly was quick and exremely easy. You don't need instructions to put these together. If you can't figure it out, wait till your child gets home from school. 'Nuff said there. The metal bed that hold your music is nice and thick with a great bent edge that is deeper than I thought it would be. Nice spring fed arms if you want to hold your music in a breezy environment.Plastic knobs are a little flimsy but you really don't need much tension to keep things in place. And they're yellow so there's that.Very nice case, much more than I was led to believe from some of the reviews here. Nice pockets and the ability to carry backpack style too. All in all I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Now to say something about Amazon's shipping. These came inside their cases and those inside a nice box. They were shipped inside a larger Amazon box along with a couple of smaller items. The "packing" consisted of a single sheet of brown paper. Fortunately my other items survived the bigger boxes slamming into them during shipping. I received another order 2 days ago packed the same way. One small sheet of brown paper. What's up with that Amazon?

Sturdy, easily adjustable and not just for sheet music.
I bought this to use as a stand for knitting charts. I work in a small space and don't have room for a table next to the chair I knit in. I've been using it for a week or so and it is absolutely perfect - sturdy and easy to adjust. I can slide it very close for good vision, as one of the legs will easily slide under the chair (a big upholstered club chair). I have added magnetic clips and hooks as well as a magnetic pencil holder, and a magnetic spice jar holds miscellaneous small items like stitch markers. The music stand's clips work well to hold my chart in place. The stand is very sturdy and holds everything I've piled on it with no problem. I wasn't thrilled about the yellow parts, but they've grown on me. The included case had a strong chemical smell, so I aired it out for a few days of offgassing and that helped a lot. The bag is large, sturdy, and useful to carry the music stand as well as other items (laptop or tablet, sheet music, magazines or pads of paper, etc.) Shipping was fast and it was securely packed. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I really like that the entire music stand fits in the bag ...
I really like that the entire music stand fits in the bag with plenty of space for additional accessories (music charts/clip-on lights/tuner/chords, and so on). The stand is adequate for rehearsals and may survive a couple of gigs if taken care of (it is not as solid as my old-heavy metal stands but way more reliable and sturdier than those wire stands. You can get it all black or with yellow adjustment parts which is what I ordered, only because my bass AMP has yellow logo and speakers ;). I use strong magnets to hold my music; and this stand works great with magnets. So, I really like the bag as I said before.Just as a warning to anyone ordering this item is that upon arrival the bag had a very strong foul fuel/chemical odor... it actually has taken me three days of hand washing and airing out in the sun to get some of this sickening smell out. I anticipate it will clear out eventually. (It seems that most items coming from China have this problem - which btw, the box this stand/bag came in had a white sticker attempting to cover the words "Made with care in China")

Finally, a great portable stand. Best stand!
My son has been in orchestra for a few years and, every year, his foldable stand breaks. Even when the stand is not broken, the music falls off regularly. This year I decided that I had had enough and would try something a bit heavier but sturdier. We've only this stand for a short time but it is great! My 12-year old son can assemble it by himself and it is very sturdy. The table is also pretty large and holds music very well. My son was ecstatic to have such a great stand. And it comes with a really nice bag. Not a cheap little thing, but a bag with handles, shoulder strap and backpack straps. The bag even has an extra pocket that holds the large orchestra music folder comfortably. Great product, well worth the price. In fact, I would pay that price just for the bag. I think I'll order a second one for my daughter.Additional comment a year later. The stand is still going strong and that’s great but the bag is not usable anymore. All the zippers broke. This is such a disappointment. Also the stand is so big that I cannot find another bag to carry it. Very disappointed.

Not disappointed at all
I've been comparing all of these for a month trying to find the best one for my son, who will be walking all over a college campus attending a summer band camp. I wanted a bag that would carry more than just a music stand. I read reviews for so many and settled on buying this one.I am not disappointed. The stand is well made, very sturdy, easy to quickly assemble and take apart. A lot of stands only held a few pieces of paper, but the lip on this one easily held a 2" binder with room to spare. The bag seems well made, has extra pockets and plenty of room for his tablet, cell phone and the previously mentioned 2" music binder. Best part is the bag is also a BACKPACK y'all !! This may not seem that important, but this is great for a kid that is already going to be carrying an instrument everywhere. I was also worried about the weight, but my son said it's lighter than his school backpack that he carries every day.

Nice stand - I like that it has a bag ...
Nice stand - I like that it has a bag with it. It smelled horrible for the first few months we had it - I had to keep it out on the porch until the smell went away.
