The interesting story behind the cool card set
I have the complete set of the original Star Wars Widevision set. This book tells the interesting story of that set, plus a couple bonus sets I don't have in card form. The book also includes the front and back of every card in the set with a blurb that describes something about the cards. Like the other books about Topps collector sets, it is interesting to see all of the cards, and learn about the history of the set.

Loved it.
I was happy with the book. Nice collection of cards I honestly didn't know had existed. Interesting facts included with each card on each page. Of course the free cards included are not actually the Widevision cards from the line. Small size reproductions. That's the only nitpick really. I have the other book collection of Topps cards. They all a must for any Star Wars fan.

The reason why some of the skins on that good is because the movie back then had a lot of scratches and dirt on the film that's what they look like back in 1977. You can't get a pure image of the Star Wars Trilogy then if you own the original copies on DVD.

Caution. Memories will get stirred up!
I have to disagree with the previous reviews. I admit I held off this purchase because of them. I decided to take the chance having purchased the previous 4 volumes on Topps STAR WARS cards and having collected all of the cards individually.. I agree the picture scans are a tad off on some cards and especially on the chase/insert cards but I would guess that is because of the glossy nature of the cards as opposed to the original Topps cards (non widevision). That being the case, I enjoyed the book. If anything , it drove home my desire to watch the ORIGINAL UNALTERED version of the film released in 1977. This was made even more so with the inclusion of the Special Edition Widevision cards in this volume. Without going into well debated territory, I am one of those fans, having seen it in the theater in 1977, that does not care for the ENDLESS changes to these films. Looking at these cards again, made me go through the original volumes and my original individual cards in their binders, to reminisce about that galaxy far, far away

Good book, great photos and info.
Got this book for my husband, a Star Wars card collector. He wasn’t aware of the wide cards and really liked it.

Missed opportunity......
I really-really wanna like these books...produced by a very good publisher, with text by a established writer, and ACTUAL Topps employee....so why aren't these books better? As someone else mentioned....photographs of actual cards, w/bad reproduction. What happened to the original negatives...or whatever source material was utilized? Now I understand if they were going for a straight repro of the cards...but...what's the point...these are books-at least use better tech which I'm sure is a standard for the publisher, and enlarge them...larger than actual size. On one page have a large version of card, and on opposite page an enlarged cardback. Not so difficult-Tho the page sizes are relatively small they could have gone a bit bigger. I have most of the books in this series, including Wacky Packages, but I pretty much feel the same about all of them. They also dropped the ball on Batman's 75th...missed opportunity. where's the book w/all those amazing 60's cards...between the TV show, and the cards w/that glorious Norm Saunders artwork...I'd want those more than all the other's. It's a shame really...great concept...poor execution-these could have been much better books.
