These are wonderful water bottles. I hand washed the screw on lids, and put the bottles in the dishwasher. I used them to store filtered water in the fridge. They do have some glass distortion, but that is fine with me. There are no air bubbles or cracks in these bottles, and they seem sturdy enough to last a while.Edited to add: My daughter has requested that I buy a set of these for her use. I think I will etch my name on mine so we don't get them mixed up. I still use them daily and keep them filled with water in the fridge for when I need water.

My only concern is that these bottles are difficult to open, especially if my hands are wet. I probably have twisted the cap on too tightly to be sure that they wouldn't spill, but I have to use something plastic or rubber to be able to twist the cap off. Wish the cap had ridges or were easier to handle.

Great product. Would have given five stars. But after much usage and washing the caps come apart and the straps are no longer secure to the part of the cap that screws on.

I will be returning these. As other reviewers have stated, the glass is imperfect and wavy and has an oily film in the inside and bad smell. I would attempt to wash them, but my other issue is that the glass looks like a bad recycle job, so I’d rather just return. Not a clear, nice glass at all.

The bottles are good for the price. There is a silicone stopper inside that touches the lip of the bottle. Contrary to what one commeneter stated, so I am not sure if this releases any chemicals into the contents, but then that seems almost impossible to avoid these days. I gave it three stars because I bought the version with straps and while the straps to seem to be strong--DO NOT GET THEM WET--because they are glued in and whne the glue gets wet the straps will come out!! I thought I was really on to something because I could keep my iced coffee in the bottle while I roamed about at work and hang onto it with the strap. But when I took the bottle home for it's first good washing with dish soap the strap immediately slipped out of the cap. Needles to say it could not be put back in. So the next day I brough the bottle to work, without its strap and carried it around with me as I made my rounds. Unfortunately, as I was also holding other items the bottle slipped pit of my arms and onto the floor splattering iced coffee and broken glass all over the place. I boight a pack of four, and somehow after that experience I never quite got around to using the other three bottles. One of these days I will, but will certainly not trist that the strap will hold up.

I like my glass bottles and use them often. I am trying to get away from using so much plastic and have found these to be great. Although the water gets to room temperature a bit faster than other types of bottles I still prefer the glass bottles over plastic.

The glass seems nice and robust, but the caps are very poorly designed. The stainless steel cap easily slips off the rubber and can rotate independently of the rubber cap underneath. So much so, that there is a danger of severing the ribbon connected to the cap. It's already starting to fray because the stainless steel has sharp edges. I would not recommend these to anyone.

I wanted to order 4 glass bottles because I don't have enough at home and I am tired of washing only one old glass bottle repeatably. It's using for water only. New ones are safe when those arrived at my door yesterday and washed those immediately afterwards. Those look cleaned and shiny.
