Olivella Soap Bar 5.29 Ounce Face & Body (156ml) (6 Pack)

Love this olive oil soap. I have a store I go to on occasion that carries a similar product and I love it but I cannot always get there. This soap is a bit more expensive but it is convenient for me to get. Olive oil soap is gentle, not a strong scent, and it lasts a long time. Good value I think.

I was buying this soap for my now 97 year old mother. She needed a gentle soap. Then I developed an allergic reaction to the soap I was using. I tried several hypoallergenic mild soaps and none of them worked. Then I thought to try the Olivella. Perfect! No reaction at all. The soap is an olive green/brown color. No surprise there. It generally has no scent, although I have occasionally opened bars with a mild odor to them. I don't like scented soaps at all, but this was not terribly offensive, just unexpected. The soap will appear to turn your washcloth brownish as you lather up. It is only soap and it washes out as you bathe. It does not lather as much as some of the mainstream soaps, but it does lather well and I have no complaints.

I had very dry, chapped hands. I washed with this soap for a few days, and now my hands are back to normal. This soap seems to restore and heal damaged skin. The soap does not lather much, but it cleans really well. It does not dry out the skin. The soap is very oily, and for that reason, I only wash my hands with it. This soap might make the bathtub slippery to stand in while taking a shower. If you plan to wash your face with it, there is a warning on the box to avoid eye contact. The soap bar is a greenish brown color. This soap is supposed to be unscented, but it has a strong smell. It smells like a vegetable garden. It does not smell like olive oil. After you wash with it, the scent fades on the skin, but it never completely goes away. You need to keep the soap bar dry by putting it in a soap dish that has drainage on the bottom. If you don't do that, the soap bar turns into a sticky mess.

November 13, 2012 - So far I like the soap very much, although I've only used it to wash my hands. I plan on using it as my shower soap as I have itchy skin during the colder months, and I'm hoping it helps to relieve the symptoms. I also have eczema on my hands almost year round, and I'm hoping it helps with this too. Some reviewers said it smelled "vegetal" and did not suds up well. You can see from my video that it suds up just fine. As for the vegetal smell, frankly, I'm not even sure what vegetal smells like, but I can say that it smells nice, it actually smells kind of floral. I'll update once I've had a chance to shower with it for a week. Update 2/23/13 We have used this soap since November for showering and general hand washing, and I have to say, my eczema has never been better in the last 10 years. Don't get me wrong, this soap is not a cure for eczema, but I definitely have not battled with it this winter like I usually do, and I do honestly think this soap has something to do with that. It's a great soap, it smells nice, and it feels good using something that is natural. Also, it is reasonably priced considering how good it is.

I actually use this to brush my teeth (it is safer to use than most commercial toothpastes!). My teeth feel like I had just been to the dentist every time. I follow it with a tooth powder to remove the soap taste and freshen everything up. I used to use the Kiss My Face olive oil soap but it has become way too hard to find. This one is actually nicer. Less of a "flavor" and it feels nice on my skin too, added bonus.

I cannot recommend Olivella face and body bars enough- excellent quality & my skin is so soft and supple. I have been using Olivella face and body bars for 20 years and I highly recommend them!

During our midwestern winters my skin gets really dry. I thought this soap, with the olive oil, could help keep my skin a bit more moisturized and I'm pleased to report it does that! It has a rich lather and the scent is wonderful and long lasting. I can smell the scent on me right now, hours after my last shower. My grandmother always had a lovely sweet scent about her. I wish she was still around so I could share this soap with her.
