Daiwa Lexa High Capacity Low-Profile 7.1:1 Baitcast Reel, Black - LEXA300HS-P

Great reel light weight not positive but I think the drag is like 20 lbs awsome for little reel. I use it for flounder fishing out of Nj in 50 to 120ft of water also troll stretches for stripers with it and use it for bottom fishing for tog and seabass!

Initial thoughts:Unboxed my reel today. The box which the reel came in (not the amazon box) was in poor condition. Looks as if it has been thrown around.Outside of this the reel looks to be in new condition. The reel feels sturdy when it is in hand without feeling too heavy. Fit my hand well. Larger than my bass baitcasters but equivalent in size to my Curado 300.Performance:I spooled up some 65lb. power pro on a 8'6" XH pole and threw some today to ensure the reel is functioning. The tensioner and drag work perfectly. I was casting a #10 double cowgirl and it did not seem overwhelmed. While reeling it in is definitely easier on the arms when using my lower ratio reels, it was very simple to burn the bucktail bulging the surface during the whole retrieve. If you casted all day it may wear on you but in my opinion it appears doable and would be even easier with a more modest size lure.I would recommend this reel. Good price. Good quality. Exactly what i was looking for.Assume if I have not updated this that the reel has held up. Won't know how it deals with heavy use until the season in MN opens up.

Took the reel to Florida last month, matched it with the St.Croix Mojo 7' stick,armed with 40lb.Power Pro vermillion red,this little reel did a job and a half..with 22lbs of drag we pulled red and gag grouper out of there rocky homes with no problems, from grunts to cobia this reel is is a bargain at any price...love the reel , can't wait to use it again in a few weeks of Hernando Beach Florida..

It's going to be a couple months before I really get to beat it up and test its true capabilities, but my initial thoughts and opinions are very postiive. Absolutely beautiful reel- looks better than some of my reels that cost twice as much. The power handle is super comfortable and gives the reel a very rugged and strong feel and appearance. The gear ratio is just unbelievable, and the operating (reeling, drag, and free spool) seem to be smooth and sturdy. My intentions were to use this reel for musky, but despite the large power handle, the overall reel really isn't that big. I like that and I don't like that. I'm a little worried about how it will handle my extremely heavy lures, but I am optimistic. Held almost an entire 150 yard spool over Power Pro 80lb, with just enough left on the spool for some leaders and droppers.

I'll be happy to update this review when I've used the reel, but if the delivery of the product is a portend of what to expect, then it won't be good. The box and the inner package had obviously been opened before as they were both ripped up. Not the way to deliver what is represented to be a new product.

This is my first bait caster and didn't really know what I was getting myself into, but boy, I'm glad I did. I haven't completely set this spool control up yet, but it casts very well, with very little issues - i.e. any bird nests that standard overheads are prone to.This is used mainly for saltwater Snapper fishing and hopefully the odd Kingfish. It's on a Shimano Backbone Elite 8-10kg bait caster rod which seems ideal for it.I really like the power handle has it means you can really crank the reel when that big ones hits and feels very comfortable.I spooled it with 30lb Sufix 832 and fit exactly 200m. I reckon 20lb might be a bit better though if you're fishing lightish.This is an excellent reel and highly recommend and fighting the urge to buy another!

Absolutely Hot Reel. I have heard of guys wearing out the aluminum handle at it's fitting to the gear shaft. I remembered it, as my handle is beginning to get "sloppy" at this same point.However, the wear seems reasonable considering the pounding I've put on it. I used it last year trolling for salmon. I mostly used it for trolling with one pound lead balls, but several times I used two and a half pound weights. I caught a lot of salmon in the 12 to 20 lb. range. This reel is slightly larger than most freshwater bass reels. I will order a couple replacement handles and see how it holds up. It's an awesome reel with an amazing amount of smooth drag strength!

I purchased this reel for some bottom fishing off the California coast for rockfish and lingcod. I paired it with a Shimano trevala mh jigging rod. This thing is a beast of a reel for it's compact size. It is light but powerful, and I recently hauled a 20lb lingcod working a big hammer swimbait off the bottom with it from my kayak. I would definitely recommend this reel, it has a nice smooth drag with plenty of power for large fish, but with the feel of a baitcast bass reel. Get one, you won't be disappointed!

インチク、タイラバで使用しました。80cmのサワラ、2kg弱の根魚ノンストレスに上がります。サイズ的に当然ですがドラグに余裕があり、ライトジギング等で不意に大物に当たっても行けそうな感じです。キャスティングもバッラッシュ無しで良い意味で大きく期待を外されました。国内でこんなリール売られたら間違いなく価格破壊が起きると感じつつ即レギュラータックル入りです。

ロープロのＰＥ２号で使うジギングのベイトを探していて、クラドかＬＪ３で迷ってましたがアマゾンを見ていて偶然これを発見して見ていたら欲しくなり買ってしまいました。早速春の若狭湾の乗り合いで使用してきましたが１キロ程ののハマチのダブルをゴリ巻きしても力負けする事無く力強く巻けました、ハイスピードも良くて回収もスピニングタックルに負ける事無く回収出来ました。竿とのバランスが悪くなりますがＰＥ３号以上のタックルにも使えそうでした、やはりロープロで３００番台という事でリールのホールド感は丸型のジギングリールとは比較に成らないほど良いです、手の小さい私には良かったです。性能は申し分無かったのですが他の方が書かれている通りレベルワインドとハンドルのプラの部分のバリの処理が甘く見た目が悪いです。まだ耐久性は解りませんがガンガン使って行きたいと思います。並行輸入と言う事で最初から諦めてましたが外箱が少し破れててテープで補修してあったり中身も本体と英語の薄っぺらい説明書が１枚のみでした、その辺は理解していたので問題無かったです。良かったので、もう１台左ハンドルを買おうかと考えています。

レベルワインダーとハンドルノブの作りが安っぽいですが、後はなかなか良い感じでした。しかしドラグの10'sは本当にあるのかなぁ？
