Kit includes everything you need to fix your toilet. Easy to installed.
My toilet is 10 years old and it has a Fluidmaster installed, so I decided to just stay with the same brand. This kit is very nice and at a reasonable price. The kit comes with all the tools needed, so no extra tools required. Definitely DIY-able. I followed the directions in the instruction manual, it's straight forward. Toilet is working like new again.

No previous plumbing experience.
This was just what I needed. I had an outdated toilet tank that has been leaking and useless. This kit and the linked video how to was instructive and guided me thru the whole installation. The most difficult part was unscrewing the old rusted bolts on the old toilet tqnak which I had to use oil lubricant and my own pliers. Once that was done the installation was easy following the instructions and the accompanying tools. Great product. Fixed the leak and toilet tank working again!

Well Thought-Out Repair Kit
After our toilet began exhibiting phantom flushes and our water bill increased alarmingly, I realized the flush valve needed to be replaced. I figured I should also replace the fill valve, last replaced by me almost 30 years ago in 1995 -- that old FluidMaster valve was looking a little worse for wear but still working! The new kit was great. I'm not as spry as I was 30 years ago and the included bright green tool made it easier than I expected to remove the old fill valve's lock nut and the nuts on the tank-to-bowl bolts. (In other words, I could just sit on the toilet seat and feel around by touch to place the green tool on the parts underneath and loosen them, as opposed to getting down on the floor with an adjustable wrench.) The red tool didn't seem to fit the old, non-FluidMaster lock nut on the flush-valve/overflow-pipe and I even had trouble getting my wide-jaw adjustable wrench to fit, but I finally got the nut off and removed the valve. (The red tool worked well to tighten the new FluidMaster lock nut.)The adjustment mechanisms on the new kit's parts are superb, I think. The old FluidMaster fill valve's height and tank water level were adjustable, but the new kit uses a somewhat easier dial/screw adjustment for the water level . I was expecting to have to use a hacksaw for the overflow pipe's height, but the kit had a simple unlock/adjust/lock means of adjusting the height that was effortless. I only had to use the hacksaw on the handle lever to cut it to the length of the old lever. (The new kit adds two new-to-me mechanisms for adjusting the flush duration and the bowl water level, both simple as well.)Having had some irregular experience as a consumer working on toilet parts, I found the written instructions and online video pretty clear and complete beforehand. I don't know how they might appear to someone who hasn't done it before, but the kit is a good, pretty foolproof means of getting some experience! It took me about an hour-and-a-half to remove the old parts, assemble the new parts, and reattach the tank to the bowl, checking and studying the instructions as I went; I then spent 15 or 20 minutes adjusting the water levels and flush. (Contrary to the instructions, I mounted the fill valve and connected the fill tube *before* putting the tank back on the bowl. Again, I'm no longer spry and the toilet is in kind of a constricted space.) I believe stories of plumbers and experienced DIYers doing the whole thing in 10 or 15 minutes. I was fortunate that the old tank-to-bowl bolts hadn't rusted and were easily removed.A well thought-out kit. The repair process was much smoother and easier than I expected (and was dreading beforehand).

This kit made me stop hating my toilet
I picked it up for $25 and it's a great deal at that price. Directions are clear and it has all the parts you need to completely redo your setup. The tools it comes with aren't great but they work. I would recommend having a big flat head and maybe an adjustable wrench handy. My toilet is an older Gerber toilet and everything fit well. If you have a gerber, flip the tank upside down when you install the gasket so you can make sure the black gasket is centered. I installed it on its side at first and the gasket wasn't centered which made putting the red one difficult. Doing it from the top was much easier. No issues with any parts leaking, and all the adjustments work very well. The old set up had 0 adjustment, and I had to hold the handle down to flush it, it filled slow, low water level, and you could hear the fill valve bobbing open and closed for like a minute after it finished filling. Now it operates like a normal toilet.I took off a star because 1) the rubber flapper was bent, so I had to take a heat gun to it to flatten it out which was a little annoying and 2) it does make a slightly annoying noise when filling. My toilet is definitely quieter, and you wouldn't notice it if you weren't paying attention. Just if you do, it's just not the smoothest sound. But for $25 I can't complain too much about the noise! I'd buy it again.
