This bag or pouch is for carrying the round lead balls used in firing flintlock rifles, muskets and percussion rifles. The spout/neck of the bag was hand turned on the wood lathe and the stopper is a hand carved bald eagle head. It is made of ash and has an oil finish. The opening in the neck is 5/8". It easily passes .50 caliber round balls (that's the largest ball I have so I don't know about larger calibers). The stopper and neck opening have been rubbed down with beeswax to aid in the stopper staying in place. The bag itself is made of moose hide leather. It features and loop and carry strap, also of moose hide. The bag itself measures 6" in length and 3 1/2" wide. The eagle head carving is 2 1/4" long. The overall length with the eagle head stopper in place is 8 1/2". The shoulder strap is 40" long. Will hold at least 100 round lead balls.
